Best truthful story Bible I've seen
This Bible is wonderful. It's broken up by themes and familiar Bible stories but talks about them as stories by the people of God who loved God. Nothing is "literal" and the artwork features brown Jesus and POC, like would be historically accurate. There are great discussion/action questions at the end of each story too. Talking about what you just read, or inviting kids to think about the world around them. It's very well done. My 4YO loves reading this with me!

Diverse, interesting, developmentally appropriate
I would say that this is a supplemental story Bible, but a very rich one that deserves to be part of your library! The reason I say that it is supplemental is that this story Bible isn't chronological; it groups stories together by topic. At first, I didn't like that very much, but my daughters are responding well to the themes and they still seem to track the stories even when they are broken up. I think that's because we have read so many other chronological Bibles, so they can still track the overarching narrative. (For chronological narrative, the Jesus Storybook Bible and Desmond Tutu's children's Bible story book are fantastic.)The illustrations and language are inclusive and diverse, and sometimes brings a fresh look to the stories for me as an adult. For example, the story in which King David takes Jonathan's son as part of his own family talks about including others who are differently abled. I believe this publisher is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA). The book still uses literal scripture interpretations, but it doesn't overly dwell on aspects that may be controversial among different denominations (for example, in their creation story, the "7 day" creation isn't the point; the point is that God made everything). The questions are GREAT for my kids' ages (6 and 8). They love answering them and it gets them thinking. I highly recommend this book!

Inclusive Language! Inclusive illustrations! So good!
Finally! A kids’ Bible with inclusive language and not all white people! The stories are told responsibly - to the Scripture and to the developmental stage of the child. The questions after the storie are great for inviting reflection. I highly highly recommend!

Excellent theology!
This is my new favorite children’s bible. I don’t have to edit this as I read it to my kids - who have a neuroscientist for a father and a theologian for a mother. Excellent work!!!

Wonderful Children's Bible
The Bible stories are well written for children and the illustrations are bright and represent several forms of art. This Bible was recommended by the director of our children's ministry and I plan to use it along with pre-school lessons beginning next month.

Wonderful book!
Fabulous book for children. I intend to read it to my granddaughters via Skype. They will have their book so can look at pictures and I will have mine.

New Children's Bible is great!
Terrific new approach to passing the Bible and its stories to children. Helps them think about the stories they are hearing and reading and make connections to their lives. I got this for my great niece and nephews, and their parents liked it too.
