This is better than the one in outpatient rehab!! It provides a great way to warm up my shoulder. Pedals backward smoothly too!
Who says you can't get therapy at home?!? I got it to help regain movement and recover from a frozen shoulder following partial paralysis from a stroke. It was easy to set up with minimal assembly required. It works very smoothly and is pretty quiet. It has a large handle on top that makes it easy to move from one place to another. I experimented with the resistance and decided to use the medium resistance. There is a wide range of resistance to choose from, you just turn the knob to select your choice. Given that I need this to work on my shoulder, I tried using it on the table while I sat in a chair. While that worked ok, the pedal exerciser was just a little bit light and wanted to shift a little (see, I am making progress!) so I put a couple of pieces of Dycem matting under the back 2 corners and that stopped the pedal exerciser from shifting. I decided to try a different approach. I put the pedal exerciser on the kitchen countertop and stood up to use it. BINGO!!! The combination of standing up and having the back of the pedal exerciser having something to be able to be up against (if necessary) is the perfect solution. And pedaling backward is just as smooth as pedaling forward!! Pedaling backward is really important if you need to work your arms. The display is very easy to read to let me know when I've reached my goal (I choose to go by minutes because that's what my therapist likes but there are multiple choices). This thing is better than the one in outpatient rehab!! It provides a great way to warm up my shoulder before beginning my other routine at home. I confess I originally wanted to buy a cheaper pedal exerciser...no frills...why would I possibly need any extras?! I am very glad I let myself be convinced by a family member to give this pedal exerciser a shot. I like it so much that even though I just got it, I am already using it more than once a day!! I hope to be using this for at least the next year and a half as I continue my recovery.

Worth the price.
Runs well. I was concerned that these wouldn't give a good rotation for a leg workout and circulation. I was wrong this one gives wonderful rotation. I have long legs and still very happy. Does feel mildly choppy until you actually get it going then it's smooth. Do to injury I have had to alter my exercise. Walking actually causes my shoulder pain to increase and that was my favorite thing to do. I cant drive right now so in home movement is crucial. I use a stepper until my shoulder stops me. But I found the perfect chair and now I can feel healing will come.

Mechanically Awesome, Electronically Challenged
Update 12/9/2019 I have been using my bike for almost 6 months and I wanted to update a few things: Battery Life for display: Batteries that came with it lasted for 660 miles 2- AAA Duracells lasted for 518 miles Caveat - When I first had the bike, when not pedaling I just rested my feet on the pedals. Now, I keep my feet on the pedals and rock back and forth a lot more now which keeps the display on without adding any miles. I also changed the batteries as soon as the display got dim so I would not lose my stats midweek. Another idea for the still lame display: The time function show minutes and seconds, when it gets to 99:59 it then resets to 0. As I usually keep my stats accruing for a week, it would be so much nicer if when it gets to 59:59, it would switch to hours:minutes and keep going. Mechanical update: After cycling for almost 1200 miles, the bike has not made that clicking in noise in a long time. Probably 2 months. Still super smooth and quiet. However, the plastic strap on the right pedal keeps popping off on the outside. Also, I have changed the way I keep my castered chair from rolling away. Before I used "bed and furniture stoppers," but once dust accumulates under the rubber, they no longer stay. I cleaned them a half dozen times and they stuck for a while after each cleaning. I finally just got 2 velcro straps that go around the front support and then around the front 2 wheels and it works a lot better. So all in all, I still LOVE this bike. In the 6 months I've had it, I've burned 29,000 calories while sitting at work and my leg muscles are pretty strong. ---------------------------------------------------------- I love using my bike at work. I do not know how accurate the measurements are, but by biking off and on during the day, it says I burn about 500 calories. I have racked up 660 miles since I got it June 1st (almost 3 months). The display has an upper and a lower number. I have no idea what the upper number shows. The bottom number cycles through: Distance, Calories, Odometer, RPM, and Time. Apparently if you buy your bike in the US, units are in miles. You can reset the values by holding the button for 3 seconds. By pressing the button you can also cycle through the options and choose one to stay on instead of scanning. Pros - so smooth to peddle. Very rarely there is a bit of a click as I peddle, but by shifting my angle it goes away. I can peddle while typing and using my mouse very well. When I need to do very careful adjustments with my mouse I have to stop. My swivel office chair does move side to side a bit when I peddle, but I am sure that is good for your core strength and is not distracting after you get used to it. - quiet. My coworker right next to me cannot hear it. My chair makes more noise rotating side to side a bit. I keep a can of WD-40 for my chair at my desk for it. - comfortable. Even while not pedaling, I like to keep my feet on the pedals - I find I naturally do this every time I sit. Sometimes I just rock the pedals forward and back as a kind of fidget device. - I can peddle backwards and it still counts towards miles. WARNING, peddling backwards may loosen the peddles, so I do this infrequently and have never had a problem. Cons - the display upper number. I have no idea what the upper number shows, So it is pointless. - the display does allow you to pick a setting to stay on, but each time you stop pedaling (if I'm on the phone or doing careful work with my mouse) it resets to scan. I would love to be able to have the top number be set on something and stay that way since it does not seem to have any use. - the display has faded over time and now I cannot see it at all. If I shine my cellphone light from the side, I can see the readout, but that is a pain. ***Update: The display quit working altogether the day after I wrote this and I realized my batteries had been dying and were now dead. I use it a lot but I would think 2 AA batteries would work longer than 3 months. Maybe the ones that came with it were really cheap. I'll see how long a couple of Duracells last. - did I mention the display? feels really cheap compared to the solidly built bike. There is a problem if your office chair is on casters of rolling away from the bike. I have seen that some people will attach a strap of some kind to the bike and chair. I have purchased a "Bed and Furniture Stopper" 4 devices that keep my chair wheels in place - I wish there were 5, but came in packs of 4. It works pretty well. though I do have to adjust them once in a while. To keep the bike from moving back, I cut a 2x6 to the perfect length to wedge between the bike and the wall. It stays put very well. Even though the bike is fairly heavy, there is no way to keep it from moving over time without a block of some kind. So in summary, I love the bike mechanics, hate the display. Since the bike function is by far the more important aspect I only took 1 star off from the awful, awful, display. I hope this was helpful.

Would reccomend for anyone from very weak to strong and healthy
First off, let me tell you that I tried one of those cheapies, the folding kind, and if you want to waste your time and money, go ahead and get one. I cant even open a bottlecap right now, and the folding ones werent enough force for me to get stronger on. I returned it, and got this one instead. And, WOW, what a difference! The good: Putting it together is easy easy (except I needed help, but I am a special case right now, with no strength). 4 bolts, and 2 pedals, and 2 batteries (and 2 foot straps). All of it went together super easy (I am using it for purely tabletop right now, so am not using the straps). I set it at 1, and there is no resistence. I set it at 2, and I feel a workout in just a couple minutes (all I can stand right now. I have had neck surgery on 2 disks, and 3x on lower back, and my muscles are so weak I cant do much, which is why I bought this: To get stronger). My wife tried it on 8, and it was hard for her, and she is strong, so once I get to going up in resistance, I know it will be good forever for me The Pedals are awesome, and have finger shapes on one side of them, and palm shape on the other side, so that they dont hurt like those cheapy folding ones did. There are no sharp edges on the Pedals at all, or anywhere near them. The Display actually works (unlike the folding one I had), and it starts up as soon as you start peddling. You can have it keep your progress from every workout by just leaving it alone after your workout, or you can reset it by holding in the big red button. Perfect for me, as I like it reset every day, but dont remember what I did the day before-I can start peddling to see what my time and distance was, then hold red button to reset and see if I can beat my time and distance (although I have only had it a couple days, I have already done this this afternoon when I worked out). My wife bought some of that non-slip stuff for the tabletop (the stuff that mechanics put in their drawers so tools dont slide around, or for kitchen drawers were you dont want stuff sliding around, same stuff), so the Minibike doesnt slide at all. Also, my wife says it is heavy enough to not slide anyway, but was easy-ish for her to move around. I have not had any sounds from the unit, it is entirely silent. It does not heat up like the folding one did. The bad (or, not so good, really, there is nothing really bad on the unit I got): It smells. And, I mean, it smells BAD! It smells like a dirty locker room. It smells like an entire football team stood above it after practice and sweated all over it. A little cleaner and a rag should sort out the smell though. I am sure this is an assembly line piece, that someone actually did sweat on, or multiple someones sweat all over. Pee-yoo The distance to the pedals is more than the cheapy folding ones was. This hurts my neck more, and rolls my shoulders forward a bit to be able to reach it (and I am 6 foot 2 inches tall, and the Minicycle is at the very edge of the table). I hope this wont be a problem for me in the long run. I may have to buy the arm things, like they have at the Physical Therapy place, so that it will be closer to me and I wont have to strain and hurt myself (remember, I am in bad bad physical shape, very very weak, and even just sitting hurts me, so if you arent as bad off as I am then you should not have any issues).

Cheap, easy to put togther, not worth it
Not the greatest but it will work for me. Easy to put together. Issue is after 2.5 miles the resistant is 0, I had to put a weight on the back to stop movement, and I had to sit on a table to comfortably use it at 5'11" with long legs. Was unable to use under desk like I originally planned. But you get what you pay for and it will at least keep me active.

This is easy to use and you can use it for arms or legs.
I should use this exercise equipment more than I do. I have sometimes gotten it to be a daily habit, but other times it is little more than a footrest or tripping hazard. I usually keep it right in front of the couch. I found that it was easier for my 4'2" sister to pedal with the bike turned the wrong g way with the bigger end right up against the couch. She usually isn't interested in exercising, but she seemed to enjoy it at least once. I am about 5' tall. I usually put pillows behind me if I want to pedal while sitting on the couch. If I don't have pillows behind me I tend to lean back in a way that is probably not great fir my back I stead of sitting up straight. Sometimes I just pedal a little off and on while watching TV. It is pretty easy if I have the bike right there to remind d me. I should be getting more exercise in general. This is an easy way to at least get some, even if I can't leave the house or don't have much free time. I can exercise while hanging out with my sister even if her wheel chair is not available to take her for a walk. When she was littler I used to take her for walks more, but she doesn't tolerate as much walking as she did years ago, and still can't be left home alone. I like this model because I can use it for either my hamds and arms or my feet and legs. I had been having problems with.my shoulder when I got it. After an experience with Covid I had more sciatica and eventually found out I had spinal stenosis in my lumbar and cervical parts of my spine. This is a reasonably gentle form of exercise that probably helps both those parts, or at least doesn't hurt as much as some things. My dad was not a big fan of this model because he doesn't feel like the resistance levels are different enough. He tends to crank up the resistance, sometimes as high as he can. I prefer it on a lower resistance level so I can keep going longer. It is nice that it is easy to adjust the resistance. My brother said he had tried some less expensive similar bikes. He found that they moved around too much on his smooth wood floor. This one is heavy enough to stay put when you want it to, and the rubbery feet help avoid sliding or floor damage. I can also pick it up by the handle and move it if it is in the way or I want to use it in a different place. I took it to my brother's house when he and his wife were out of town and we stayed with thir kids. I think kids are not supposed to use this, but we let them try it with supervision. The ones who were not as tall as my sister found creative ways to make it work for them. They seemed to like it a lot. I think.it really works best if I sit on a stable firm stationary chair that is the right height for me to reach to.pedals easily. It is possible to adjust for leg length a bit by moving the bike closer or farther from the chair. If the chair is too high, it won't work. But it can work with a chair that is lower than you normally sit on. I have tried using this one for my arms when it is on a table. I even put another one under the table so I could exercise my kegs at the same time. I don't do that often though. I am usually too lazy to clear a space and pick the thing up to put it on the table. I would also want to clean it because I don't think my feet and the floor are as clean as the table and my hands. It is nice to have the option though.

TL: DR – Not a great item from Sunny; Unfortunate experience with Amazon Resale
TL: DR - I'd have listed this item's condition as Used - Acceptable, instead of Like New, and buying from Amazon Resale only made the experience worse. First, I will speak to the quality of the device as received/manufactured. I have had previous Sunny Health units (including a water-rower) and I happen to love putting things together. Not only was this more difficult than expected, but there was no means of gauging the impact of the resistance knob being turned. The actual central unit with the handle, came together and enclosed, with just the pedals and straps to attach. Nonetheless, this took about 25-30 minutes to do by hand (I'm an engineer). Using the exerciser is clunky and non-fluid. Unsure whether it's the design, or it’s because there were warped metal parts where the stabilizers attached to the mechanism, or the clearly-stripped bolts (no extras came in the package). It was originally going to be a simple gift for mobility, but it'd likely discourage exercise more than anything. NB: We did not notice specifically before purchase, but there is a warning from the manufacturer that the device is not made for standing nor supporting of weight. Just as an exerciser with unquantifiable resistance...? Second, I'll go back to the quality of this 'mint' product and the RETAILER aspect. Because it was a gift, we requested that it come with Amazon packaging. It did not. The packaging made it seem as though whoever had it previously shipped it directly to our pickup location - without it ever being tested or rated again by Amazon There was nothing “Like New” about this item, and we could tell from the moment we saw the box. It was crumpled and clearly Manufacturer Packaging (we’d asked for it to be repackaged, as it was intended to be a gift). As soon as lifted the box to bring it inside, we could hear loose pieces bouncing around (turns out, one of them was the loose batteries that had dislodged along with the entire display. The other battery was still in its spring-loaded housing, (likely discharging, we agreed). We only know the original packaging had protective Styrofoam because of how much was missing – the shreds left surely didn’t protect the item in shipment. Finally, the item was almost too late to bring for Mother’s Day. This item was ordered for ‘Next Day’ on Wednesday - for Thursday -guaranteed between 11am and 3pm. The package was delivered on Saturday, around 2:00pm - the day before Mothers' Day. Travel plans changed so this is not a ‘deal breaker’ by any means. Unfortunately, it’s just a truth of the transaction that serves as another frustration worth mentioning since Amazon was in total control of the fulfillment and delivery of this "Like New" item. An overall terrible experience to have to 'learn' from. Buyers: beware.

Works great...glad I bought it!!
I was excited to get this in the mail! It was easy to put together and I have arthritis in my hands as well as poor strength (not many steps were needed to put together and it cam with tools). I live a sedentary lifestyle and I was wanting to be more active, but start gradually. I experience random knee pains, muscle fatigue in legs, hip pain, and othe msculoskeletal problems. I use this cycle 3-4 times a week sometimes more and it has helped me with my mobility as well as reduce joint pains and muscle fatigue. After reading all of the good reviews on this product, I decided to give it a try. I had planned on buying a $20-$30 cycle, but found low ratings and poor quality. So this is the one I went with and I am so glad I did. This cycle does not slide like many have commented on. I use it on carpeted floors, but I don't keep it on high resistance...usually 2-3 setting. This cycle is a bit on the heavy side, but it is easily transported by the convenient handle. I started out using the bike on "2" and it was very fluid without any problems. The readout is easy to read ( although I wish it had a light to read at night or in darker areas). It is extremely quiet!! I don't use the feet straps, but my feet do not slip at all. I have no other cycles to compare this item to other than the stationary vertical and horizontal bikes I have had in the past. This bike by far surpasses those other bikes because it doesn't irritate my groin area or put my back in an awkward position and cause back pain and fatigue. My only problem is finding a "comfortable" chair to use this with. For now I simply have a folding chair and that works fine and supports my spine. I would rather use a recliner, but that would probably not be good for my back because I use the cycle for 30-60 minutes at a time...usually while watching tv or taking a break from housework. If you are in search of a quality lower body floor cycle, this is a great investment
