I bought the T9 from Autovox about a year ago and I really like it. It’s the best because it replaced the rear view mirror in my RV with an actual rear view of the road. One of the best upgrades that a road traveler can do. However, when I saw this new camera that is compatible with my existing T9 came out, I had to try it. WOW, it’s really a big difference. With the old camera I could see the four lanes behind me, but it wasn’t a full 180 degree view like this. With this new camera I can watch cars in the back as they pass me, and there is absolutely NO blind spot at all! The picture quality is also improved, and this looks like it is now full high definition. Very clear picture and it almost looks like I’m viewing a rear view mirror rather than just a screen. This is an excellent upgrade for the T9. It came with other wires as well, to make it compatible with other systems that you might already have installed I recommend this for the awesome 180 view that it has, not only the great picture quality.

I have the Auto-vox T9 dashcam and wanted to switch out the front camera with something that is installable under the hood of the car right at the front grill. This would give me the true OEM look. The auto-vox cam7 does the job. It is detachable, waterproof, and durable. The camera functions flawlessly even with the high heat generated by the radiator, the wind, and the dirt from driving. With high-definition recording and a wide-angle lens, it captures clear footage of the front. I couldn't have asked for a better product.

My super duty truck didn't come with a backup camera so I had an older backup camera system where the camera mounted just above the license plate and I would hit it sometimes or things would occasionally fall on it, I was always nervous of damaging it because of the spot it was in, plus I couldn't really see the ball of my hitch when trying to backup a trailer, it helped out alot to line me up but knowing how far back I needed to go was still a small challenge Now that I have this cam7 backup camera that has the oem style attachment to it, I mounted to the left corner of my tailgate handle as shown in the picture and it looks like it belongs there, it's out of the way, securely mounted and just plain works in that spot, so much better than the older style backup camera, I can actually see the ball of my hitch now, such an all around big improvement, the camera picture quality is great, the build quality is great, the install was super easy since I plugged it into the new autovox t9 pro system, you won't need to use the extra set of video cables that the camera comes with Very satisfied with my purchase, 10 out of 10 would recommend!

I like that this camera offers a through hole installation. Be sure your vehicle can offer enough clearance for both the cable and the metal stub needed to pass through the hole. It comes with two collars of different size enabling you to adjust if needed. The camera angle is fixed; so you will only be able to rotate it left/right. However, you should be able to tilt a little with your viewing area in your head unit (mirror) as I was able to do with my V5pro. I think the camera quality is high; but I would shrink wrap any of the smaller wires that you may choose to use for connecting to your existing harness (eg: backup wire). These small wires are fragile. Night vision on my V5pro has not been great with headlights pointed at the camera. I think a polarizing lens would be the way to go for a better image.

I got the Cam7 to go with my Auto Vox v5 Pro. Once you know to clip the green wire then it works with the v5pro signaling then was up and running. Also if you want to use the image flip you cut the white wire. I managed to get it to fit in my truck tailgate factory hole from the OEM camera placement. It doesn't sit perfectly and could use to stick through a touch more. I might do some more adjusting and maybe enlarge the hole a touch as there is a shadow left and right on the side for me. Either way it works great there, I can pan down and see my bumper and hitch, or I can pan back up and see wide angle behind me. The fish eye view does distort a little but I prefer to have the wide angle to see more area. I have not tried it at night much yet and plan to try it a little more, but generally I just like my mirrors when I’m moving forward and don’t need a live display, so I just use backing up and then have it set to use the power save feature. Overall I find this camera a great improvement for my field of view with my v5pro, and a perfect match for my tailgate latch installation placement.
