Samsung Galaxy S9+ Alcantara Case, Blue

This is, without question, one of the most luxurious cases I've ever had on a cell phone. Alcantara is of course the luxury material used most often in the interiors of high end sports cars and custom cars. My new Microsoft Surface laptop has it on the keyboard deck of the machine. Prior to purchasing the Surface laptop I did a lot of research on Alcantara as I was concerned about its life span and keeping it clean. What I found is that its so robust that it can only be cut with a laser... scissors will not work. And it can be cleaned with a damp cloth and a little (mild) soap. So when I decided to purchase the Alcantara case for the S9+ I had no doubt it would work fine. My Galaxy is the deep blue color so I gravitated tot he blue Alcantara case. Of course the only part of the phone you can see is the bottom edge where the speaker, headphone jack and USB-C connector are... but none-the-less, it looks very nice. The case actually has a nice amount of grip to it. This is not a case that will slip out of one's hand. The function buttons look to be metal and are a very dark blue. They work very well and have a pretty soft touch to them. Their is plenty of room as well at the bottom for the USB-C, headphone jack to fit without touching any of the fabric. Their is no impediment to the speaker either. The top lip and the two bottom corners rise above the screen (even with a glass screen protector on... as I have) so you can lay the phone on the screen side without the screen coming in contact with any surface. On the back side of the case the camera, sensor and flash/heart rate sensor are separated by a plastic frame that is "welded" to the material. It's very well done and protects those elements while laying flat (on the same level) as the fabric. So the frame doesn't stick out. A nice touch in terms of detail. The Samsung name/logo are laser etched into the fabric just below the finger print sensor. In the case of the blue Alcantara case the Samsung name seems to be in black, although that just may be the color of the fabric once you laser etch it. The interior of the case is also covered in Alcantara for extra protection for the glass phone back. The case itself is fairly stiff so should provide good drop protection should one ever drop the phone. The only thing I have noticed in the day or so I have had it on the phone is that it does pick up little specs of debris on the fabric. That said, all I have done is rub over it with my hand or on my jeans leg and anything on the case comes right off. After all, it is a fabric and will pick up little pieces of dust and debris. All-in-all, this is a beautiful case... with a very rich blue color. The quality is outstanding and I suspect with minimal care it will last a very long time. I would absolutely recommend this case if you are looking to have an extremely high end/high quality case on the phone. No doubt it will garner some attention.

This is a fantastic case for the S9+. The Alcantara material is soft and lush to the touch, it provides a nice positive grip while being comfortable in the hand and up to the ear. This is an OEM Samsung case and it shows. The craftsmanship is excellent, the fit and finish are perfect. The contrasting blue goes well with the all black s9+, I was worried about the colors clashing at first, but now I have had it for a month or so I can safely say it is a good combination and offers a good color contrast. The only negative I found (and this isn't necessarily the cases fault) but when in my pocket during the rain, the case got very wet and kept a lot of water within the surface fibers. This made the phone wet for a good while until I took it off and then dried it. I would note that no water was absorbed into the material / case, it was merely on the surface, but it was something of note. I love this case and cycle it through with my Pitaka Aramid case depending on what I am doing that day. Would definitely recommend spending the extra for a genuine OEM case.

I definitely paid less than what Samsung normally wants (just look on their website), and for the discounted price, this is worth the value. I'd say up to a cool A.J. (former U.S. President on a printed bill) it's worth the cost, but not more than that. It is Alcantara and the mint is more a light grey to my eyes. I like it enough that I just placed an order for the one in black to switch it up from time to time. It seems to be well made and I'm guessing the frame of the case is made from flexible plastic. It fits snug to the phone and the Alcantara covers not just the outer part of the case, but the inner part that makes contact with the phone. It works just fine with wireless chargers and has raised corners to keep the screen from making contact if you like placing the phone face-down. Durability seems fine. I'm careful with my phones but not to the point where I pay attention to the well-being of the case. I'll place the phone down edge first, toss it gently on to the seat of the car, etc.. I will say this about Alcantara, it likes to grip on to other fabrics, which is a plus, and will stay firmly in place on car seats and so forth. It even produces a fair bit of friction on most smooth surfaces. In the hand, however, it isn't especially grippy and handling a Samsung flagship phone with this case is not much better than without it. The area around the camera is reinforced with steel, or something similar, and the bottom ports are open and unprotected (though the bottom corners are protected). I haven't noticed any artifact issues or light reflection issues using the camera like some people experience with other cases.

I love the feel of this phone case. First off, I am not the easiest on phones or cases. I have had this for a little over a month now. There is some wear showing on the corners, as I expected there would be. Its basically fabric for goodness-sakes. So unless your that, never drops, lays down where you shouldn't and always keeps in your purse or pocket kind of phone person, this case will eventually wear out. But one thing I am super pleased about is how easy it is to clean. Mine was looking quite nasty, to be blunt. From dirty hands and laying in my woodshop. BUT!!! I took a soft bristle toothbrush and a mild soap (Like Dawn dish soap) and used warm water. It looked practically brand new! I have done this twice now. Let it air dry. I'm afraid that if you rub it too much it will mat or add extra wear to the material. But its just as soft and pretty as when i first got it!

Probablemente el "case" de mejor calidad que haya utilizado. La sensación en la mano es muy agradable y proporciona el "grip" tan necesario en un móvil tan resbaladizo. Este color es algo sensible a las marcas de líquidos. El nivel de protección es bueno considerando su "delgadez".

I couldn't tell that the cover has a "felt-like" texture or that it's not so much red as it is brick red. The felt-like texture may impede applying add-ons since I am not sure that adhesive will stick to the surface. I like this case because it is very sleek and compact, so it makes my phone feel less bulky and heavy. Conversely, it may not be the most sturdy or durable case which is why I did not give a five star rating on these factors. Also, I haven't had the case for a year yet so I don't really know how well it will stand up over time. I also did not give a five star rating for value because I find all phone cases expensive for what you get. I am happy with this purchase so far.

Just what I want in a case, stylish. Not heavy duty of course, it's not supposed to be, it's just right.
