Infortunately the wobbling wire just spins in a circle making the butterfly flutter as it goes. It would be nice if it could stop/pause and change direction. Having thought it would be another return - it turns out the cat loves it if I hold the unit and waving the flutterby around - so this is what we do. I was hoping for no effort entertainment (!) while I work - but he now sits next to the unit when turned off , looking hopeful for his next play session! And this is all he does now so it’s a keeper. He isnt at all interested until it flutters. Very realistic fluttering action looks just like a butterfly. Unit is a little bit noisy (so not silent) but ok. And there’s a spare yellow butterfly+wire too. Although now one is on - I have no idea how to get that one off to be honest - as it’s firmly wedged on there.

Literally 30 seconds after turning on the butterfly fell apart.There is no ‘instruction manual’ as advertised but you don’t need one.Had to bend the wires slightly to get it to flutter as was spinning vertically too fast.Very loud and sounds clunky/broken? Not sure if this is normal.Advert says it comes with 3 butterflies but there are only 2.BUT - kitten is OBSESSED - gives me a moment’s peace 😹

I have scored 4 stars because although this a great cat toy and the only one to hold her attention for more than 5 minutes, it doesnt take her very long to dislodge the butterfly from the base! Having said that I would definitely recommend this for a kitten (mine is 6 months old) but not sure how long it will last once she is fully grown, she is quite big now as she is a ragdoll. She has lots of fun with it and I would definitely recommend it.

The media could not be loaded.  I like everything about this , because Bruno loves his new toy , he hasn’t got bored of it ( as yet!)He’s only 4 and half months old so he’s especially lively , he’s also an indoor cat , so this helps him release some cat stress and energy.Battery goes for ages , does what it says - motion activated so when he passes it will move and he’ll be ready to ambush 🐈‍⬛Good price at £15 , possibly could get it for less or pay more but seems a good deal for the upgrades Motion activated one

Definitely flawed, don’t work on carpet, and on Lino very slow, more noise less action, wouldn’t buy again

5 month bengal loves playing with this, and hasn't left it alone since it arrived. Base could do with being weighted down,sibce it is often knocked or dragged over by boisterous kitten. I'm a big suprised the batteries didnt last longer than 3 days. Going to need shares in a battery factory to keep this going...lol But overall this is a great toy to keep energetic cats busy.

It’s quite noisy & our 3 month kitten found the butterfly too harsh & fast. It frightened him. I returned it same time as 2 other items which have already been refunded, still waiting for refund on this overpriced item.

She started playing right out of the box (made putting batteries in a challenge) but is now happily jumping around like a mad thing. It's nice to give my arm a rest while still seeing her play happily. Not sure how long the butterfly will last, but there are two in the box and can order more. A great buy.

Keeps the cats entertained. They love it and will stop whatever they are doing to come play.

I would prefer if this moved a little more slowly. My older cat is afraid of it. My younger one likes to atch it but she won't touch it unless I turn it off.I would not buy it again.

Much better than the original Flutterbug toy. This one turns off after 10 mins and has a motion sensor. My adult cats don't care for it, but it always attracts my young foster kittens. They regularly play with it, because it's quiet and the butterfly flutters randomly, so it looks realisitic.

One out of my two cats loves to play with this, the other is scared of it but she’s skittish. It keeps her occupied for around 5-15 mins, but the motion sensor doesn’t work very well until I put my hand in front, that might be because she’s all white. My only complaint is the sound, It makes a pretty loud squeaking sound on every spin that I can’t stand. My cat likes it though
