The PERFECT Holy Grail tinted moisturizer!
I ADORE this stuff. I can't live without it! I have the skin tone of professor Snape - a sallow pallor, about as even as the skin of an aging zombie, accompanied by sunken, dark-ringed, hollow eyes a la Gollum. If I go out of my house "barefaced" and carefree, strangers rush to me, asking if I need help. If I'm sick. If I should sit down. If I'm contagious. (Seriously, this has happened on several occasions.) I also am not a makeup person OR a morning person, so I don’t really do a morning makeup routine. Enter – BalmShelter, my saving grace! It covers JUST enough of the unevenness of my skin and adds a shade of coverage to my dark circles to fix my face. I can get away with wearing JUST this and maybe a little bit of powder - and people don't go running and screaming from me like in the finale scene of a disaster movie. This stuff is thick and luxurious. My skin feels plump and moisturized afterwards, but not greasy. I don't even feel TOO guilty on days where I'm so exhausted that I slither into bed and forget to wash my face - I haven't noticed any breakouts after doing so. On days when I want to look EXTRA fancy or not sick, I do have to wear an actual foundation for more coverage, but on most days, I just slap this stuff on. **ETA: 1/2022 The Balm discontinued Balm Shelter, and replaced it with Anne T. Dote. I do not recommend Anne T. Dote. It's weird and chalky and too light of a color and is not creamy and smooth like my beloved Balm Shelter. Someone, help me find a replacement, please!

very satisfied
This product is really nice. I have quite dry skin so I add a tiny bit of oil to it to make it just a bit more hydrating. It is a light coverage and the color is really true, doesn't turn orange. I bought the light medium and for my olive skin it is perfect.

theBalm Balmshelter is amazing! I tend to have dry/combination sensitive skin with some redish patches on either side of my nose and on my forehead, but this evened out my skin amazingly. I usually use Aveeno tinted moisturizer, but it always left my skin feeling oily and gritty. Not this. It goes on so smoothly and light and blends into my lighter skin tone perfectly, giving me a polished look. I don't even have to use a concealer stick anymore! LOVE IT!
