I love love love this book
I love love love this book. It is so compact I keep it in my glove box. When I have some extra time it is so simple to read up on a close hike that fits how much time I have to kill. They range from very easy to very hard and have all the info needed in one spot. No need to worry about having cell coverage trying to find the trail head or look up what parking pass is needed. They are organized by area too, so you can read about many hikes in the same area and hit up a few smaller ones in a single trip!

Day Hikes; Central Cascades
In the hands of my Boy Scout Leaders, kids and adults, who are planning our Day Hikes and shorter Backpack trips as the weather cooperates. The descriptions on this edition of destinations is adequate but not as thoroughly expressed as they are in the Seattle Mountaineers series of book for hikers. Having two or three editions covering the same general areas is a good idea to gain perspectives on your own hiking destinations.

Perfect Book!
This book has been great. I had a New Years resolution to go on a hike a week in the Northwest, and this guide has really helped me stick to that goal. The helpful star ratings let me pick how strenuous I want my hike to be, or what kind of view I will have once I get there. The descriptions are incredibly detailed, and the driving instructions are perfect. I would completely recommend this book to any novice or well-travelled hiker!

Inaccurate elevation, mileage. Missing information. won't buy from this publisher again.
I bought this book at Barnes and Noble but it is the same edition. We planned three hikes using this book and two of them ended up as "failures" because of misinformation from this book. I can't return to Barnes and Noble but I plan to write the publisher and ask for a refund since I can't trust the content of this book any more.Icicle Ridge: claims to be a 4 mile round trip hike but at 2 miles, 2.25 miles there was nothing. We turned around and met others on their way up who asked if we'd made it to the "top".... guess at 3 miles there is a scenic look out and logs to rest on. the book does not mention this.Colchuck Lake: the book claims to be 5800 ft elevation. WTA.org says 5580 ft which, when you're clinging to the side of a snowy mountain trying to decide if you want to press on, accurate elevation can make a difference.Would like if the index was alphabetical with ALL hikes, not alphabetical by region, then hike name.
