MAGIX Fastcut - Version 3 - Software for Automatic Video Editing (PC)

There isn't a lot to this software, other than the ability to input some videos (or photos) and have them spliced together to music. There are some pre-loaded templates, such as an action template, and you can choose how long you want your final video to be. You can choose which clips you want to give priority to. If you want more control then this may not be the software for you, but if you want something put together quickly without too much thought then this might be just the trick.

Sadly, this is unimpressive. For just under £60 for either the boxed disc or download, this offers a number of features. If all you want to do is edit video, it is incredibly easy to use. However, if you want to compile something a bit more sophisticated, it immediately becomes less functional and extremely hard and frustrating to use. It is NOT for the experienced editor but would be acceptable for a jobbing home video editor at a fairly simple level.There are solutions and templates included, but I don't think, having tried it for review, that I would buy it myself.

I used this to edit some basic footage with music, which is just fine. The templates are mostly fast-paced action type packages and are fine if you just want to edit a few sports videos or other ‘action’ vids. However, while it is possible to cut your own videos manually, i.e without a template you come to realise how basic it is. You can’t, for example, lay the audio of footage over still photos as you can with iMovie. That said, I happy with the basic videos it produced.

I think at the current price of £60 I think this is a bit overpriced for what it does.It's a good beginner's software but the application is rather limitedOk for home use if you don't want to spend too much time with it, but i would opt for something more advanced and with more options at the same price level

I have tried to load this software on several occasions but unfortunately it stalls and I cannot complete the installation. I am using Windows 7, which should be compatible but I have not been able to resolve whatever issue is causing it to crash. I will continue to persevere and will update my review if I am successful in the end but unfortunately, for now, I have been unable to get this to work.

Decent entry level software for basic creation and editing of videos. It's simple to use and helps to make sense of your holiday go pro footage!

Very easy to use, didn't take long to install and was very intuitive - didn't need to read instructions or guides to work out how to edit and save my videos.Only used to do a few small vids for an insurance claim but can't wait to do the family holiday vids!

The more time I spend with this video editing software the more I like it. You can upload your phone vids then use a number of included templates to transform it with the editing tool. You can mess around with music, either your own imported or those supplied and produce some nice basic short films or videos. It's not ground breaking stuff but I'm quite enjoying messing around with it at present.
