I've played guitar for about 11 years. I'm now on a professional contract. And in them years I've used many many wah pedals and this is easily the best I've had. I've used the classics you've all heard of... And this is better. In my opnion. The fact it doubles as volume and wah is excellent and it's super easy to switch between the two as well and even has a light so you know what setting it's on for gigging. I used this on my last four gigs, it's a professional venue with stage lighting and lots of smoke etc and I could see the light through the dark purple and smoke, green light= volume, red light=wah. Both feature work amazingly. The wah has that wah sound you're desperate to find. I've searched years for the perfect tone and setting of wah and this covers every area and it's redicolously cheap. It is small... Yes.... I'm a size UK 9, and my shoe covers the entire pedal, you do need to have a little more care when using it, more attention to the pressure and position of your foot on the pedal, but it works so well and it's super easy to adjust to it's smaller size. The benefit too is it fits nicely on a smaller board like mine, takes up less space for more pedals (because we're always wanting to add a new pedal aren't we people of Amazon? 😜) There is a large deal of hiss when the wah is engaged, this is typical of wahs, but this was aggressive, so I bought the noise gate you see (budget pedal that also blew my mind at how good it is) and it totally eliminates the buzzing and hissing from the wah and any gain/distortion I have active at the time with minimal signal impact and works from a low setting too. If you're not bothered about hiss for home practice then don't worry about the noise gate. But I had a gig and needed it badly but then found they had me plug into a DI and so eliminated all that extra noise anyways and didn't need it for that gig! But it's still a vital bit of kit especially with this wah if you don't want that extra noise. For the price. Sacrifice the size and go for it. You won't regret it. I haven't. Mini wahs are the new way forward!

I was in the market for a wah and the added benefit of using as a volume control was tempting. It is smaller which is perfect for my small pedal board (not playing shows or anything so trying to keep it light). The Wah is very sensitive and sounds great. The volume doesn't have a long ramp. It's almost effectively an on/off switch, but there is some variance in the higher position. Overall I is exactly what i wanted for a decent price. I purchased another SONICAKE pedal which was very high quality so I figured this one was worth the shot. I am not disappointed. The only thing that I have the smallest grief about is the position of the 9V AC port. It is on the top right. Since I have my volume/wah first on the board it means that the power cord needs to wrap under and to the right which isn't as huge deal, but I worry about it getting caught between the pedal and base. Would be better if it was just on top like most other pedals.

The size of the pedal is perfect for me (average size feet for adult male). It looks nice and feels well built, though I've only had it for 1 day. The sweep of the volume is not as much as with my larger Ernie Ball volume pedal. But it can still do volume swells, depending on what I have after it in the effects chain. If I have a distortion pedal and a noise gate, then I get an abrupt on/off volume effect, which is to be expected. But if I have a clean channel without a gate, then I can do a swell. For the wah sound, with what I'm using it with, I really like the sweep of the wah and the sound. The wah is activated by pressing harder with the toe, which switches it on and off. When the wah is not on, it functions as a volume pedal. Some other brands for these combo pedals have a switch that has to be changed from the side of he pedal for altering between the wah and volume mode. I have powered this through an isolated power supply (no power supply included and no slot to hold a 9v battery) and did not notice any lose of tone. I didn't record before and after to compare to be sure, but if there was any, it had to be slight. The LED lights to indicate the wah mode are great, but they are under the foot rest of the pedal which limits visibility. Of course, you can hear if the wah is on, but for a large pedalboard it's easy to lose track and having a visual confirmation prevents a mistake during a performance. I have not taken the pedal apart, but my guess is that for a person that is comfortable drilling and soldering, it might be possible to modify this and reposition the lights on the side. The bottom metal plate of the pedal isn't flat. There is a raised area which means that applying velcro to the bottom to stick onto a pedalboard isn't as simple as it should be. For someone with access to a saw, laser engraver, or 3d printer, a custom bottom plate could be added to provide a totally flat surface for velcro. If you have a pedalboard with rails, it may be possible to position the pedal so that the raised area is between the rails. My pedalboard is a different style design so I actually need a flat surface for the pedal bottom. EDIT UPDATE AUGUST 2020: I ended up taking the pedal apart to see if I could add a mini switch to force the pedal into VOLUME mode only or WAH mode only. I don't have much electronic wiring skill, but do have a multimeter and was able to figure out what circuit board contacts to wire for this purpose. It's not something I expect most people could do without a tutorial, but for those that like to modify their gear, I thought I should mention that it does work. I considered relocating the LED lights to the side of the pedal, which should be equally possible, but with the new micro switch to change modes, I don't really feel the need to now. I did try a more expensive WAH/VOLUME combo pedal from another brand that had a dedicated mode switch but I returned it because (1) I didn't like the sound of the wah as much as this Sonicake pedal and (2) it was also a mini pedal but lower to the ground which caused a problem with the heel of my shoes hitting the floor before the pedal was fully in down position.

I own many good quality, name brand pedals which I am very pleased with. However I wanted to downsize my pedal board. I keep the big one for shows and large venues. However I thought Id take a chance on this since it was so small, so lightweight and inexpensive. I figured even if it only lasted a short while it'd be worth it. well I've been using it right along for many months now. The way effects sound fine. and the volume pedal is smooth. I've found that for the price point, this little pedal gives you the bang for the buck. And it's so light and small it's easy to carry around in its own gig bag. (I bought a separate sipper case that fits it nicely). I'm happy with it and would recommend it to others. Yes there are better, more expensive pedals out (I own some) there but if you want to downsize and would like to lighten your load I think you'll be happy too. I was happy that it arrived as expected and was packaged in a way that protected the product. I did use a good quality power brick to ensure consistent clean power. Other players ask about it. We look at it and laugh because it sounds so good although it's small and inexpensive.

I did not want to review this, but they keep sending the email. I bought the Sonicake VolWah several weeks ago. It arrived on time, and looked in good condition. I plugged it up to my Spark amp. The volume part of it worked fine. But, when I clicked it to the Wah pedal, my amp boomed! It was loud and continuous! It did not change when I tried to use the pedal. I thought maybe it was the amp. So I tried it on two more amps with the same result. I have EMG active pickups, so I tried it with my Les Paul. Same thing sonic boom from the amp! Loud and continuous. I didn't try it again to save what was left of my ear drums. I returned it and got a refund, because I was afraid to get it replaced, and the same thing happen. I guess, I got a bad one. You may not get this problem. I have never had a pedal do this before. And I have a lot of pedals.

I just added the SonicCake VolWah pedal into my now six-pedal chain and I gotta say I LIKE IT! It's well-made, sturdy, reasonably priced and switches easily from volume to wah and back (red LED is wah-the bonus-and green LED is volume). I'm not a big wah fan, but I'm beginning to see (hear) possibilities. I added it at the beginning of my chain. It allowed me to turn up the volume on both amps (a 40watt amp line out also drives a 15watt acoustic-specific amp set for mostly bass tones) for Better Speaker Efficiency (I'm hearing microtones and notes that I haven't heard before) without annoying my wife. Being an active pedal, it can be placed anywhere in your chain for different amplitude effects, which I will try over time. No discernible noise (from this pedal) for my setup. My chain: Vol/wah; octave; 6-band EQ; compressor-sustainer; distortion/morpher; and an acoustic amp sim/modeler. I'm an amateur lap steel player, not a gigging pro, but this pedal is awesome. Update 11-21-2021: I rerouted the VolWah pedal, EQ and the acoustic amp modeler through my big amp's fx circuit while the other three pedals were rerouted to the big amp low input jack and then a line out to the small amp. I put a dynamic Shure-57 style mic into the big amp high input jack and aimed it at the guitar. Wow! Big sound and great tone, lower noise, and my big amp spring reverb now plays nicely with my small amp chorus. This setup (the fx circuit) DOES cut out the big amp's front panel volume control and volume is solely through the pedal now but still completely controls the total volume, including the cascaded small amp and mic. I am supremely pleased with the pedal and its abilities. I'm still learning to "wah" though.

The pedal has had infrequent use on a practice pedalboard I keep at my house for visiting players. The toothed gear slipped off the internal potentiometer. I took the pedal apart, slipped the gear back on, and it is working again - for now. There is no retention mechanism for this gear, it slips onto the shaft of the potentiometer and is expected to just stay there. Seems like a flaw in the design. For the price it is an OK pedal, the wah and volume functions work as advertised, it is small and doesn't take up much space on the pedalboard. The quality of construction is the weak spot and I expect it to stop working again.

It’s not all that! I wouldn’t use it on stage. Volume does not have a stable volume band. It basically cuts off like other reviews stated. Wah is much better though, but noisy if left alone, need to be ready to turn it off as soon as your lead/solo is done. For US 9 size foot I thought it would be awkward rocking this back and forth but not bad, feels great with a pair of Vans, tennis shoe. I give it good marks cause it’s inexpensive, I wouldn’t expect a 3 carat diamond for $30 bucks. At this price point, it’s a nice little thing to play with or travel. Again, if you’re in front of a crowd of people that depend on you to perform, this won’t help you shine and glitter.

Muy sorprendido y para bien. Por el precio que tiene, no esperaba que fuera tan sólido y que funcionara tan bien. Si tienes poco espacio en la pedalera (como es mi caso), este VolWah es una bendición. Lo que más me ha gustado: - Versatilidad total: Es súper práctico tener un pedal de volumen y un Wah en el mismo aparato. Cambias de un modo a otro con un pisotón (el LED te indica en qué modo estás) y responde de maravilla. - Cero ruidos: Al ser un pedal activo, no chupa nada de tono ni mete ese siseo molesto que tienen otros pedales baratos. La señal sale limpia. - El sonido del Wah: Me ha sorprendido para bien. Tiene un carácter bastante clásico, rollo "Crybaby", que suena genial tanto en limpio como con distorsión. - Tamaño mini: Es pequeñísimo. Cabe en cualquier hueco y no pesa nada, ideal si te mueves mucho con la guitarra a cuestas. Debes tener en cuenta que el ser un pedal tipo mini, es realmente pequeño. Si tienes el pie muy grande o estás acostumbrado a los pedales de tamaño estándar, al principio se te hace un poco raro y tienes que pillarles el truco para controlar bien el recorrido. El barrido es más corto que en un pedal grande, así que requiere un poco más de precisión con el tobillo. De todos modos, por poco más de 30 euros es un chollo.

Il VolWah è il prodotto perfetto per chi ha bisogno sia di un classico Wah che di un pedale per volume in quanto, quando non è attivato il wah, il pedale funziona automaticamente da volume. Il suono del wah ricorda diversi modelli classici e ha un ottimo range. Si attiva attraverso la pressione dello switch con la punta del piede, come molti altri modelli. La costruzione è robusta. L'involucro è di dimensioni contenute e ciò lo rende facilmente inseribile in qualsiasi pedalboard. Un ottimo acquisto.

Excelente calidad y sonido para su precio. El Wah suena en el estilo de Cry Baby con un buen barrido y el volumen hace lo que debe hacer... subir y bajar el volumen con un rango muy cómodo para ajustar con el píe. Se agradecen los leds "muy brillantes" para indicar si esta en modo Wah o en modo pedal de volumen. Recomendado!

Cette pédale vol/wah est juste géniale, petite mais efficace aussi bien pour le volume que pour le wah, on obtient un son très proche de la cry-baby. Je ne m'attendais pas vraiment à ce que le son soit aussi bien reproduit. On sent en la prenant dans la main que c'est du solide, reste à voir dans le temps mais pour le prix, c'est franchement un bon petit investissement.
