I fly frequently for work and these headphones have been amazing. Background airplane noise becomes non existent and they’re small and comfortable enough that I can still sleep with them in. They also have a pretty good call quality for Audio which is great for work calls. General sound quality for music, podcasts and audiobooks is also top notch

In a previous life I designed studio-grade headphones, specifically the driver interfaces to achieve a specific frequency response output… I am ALOT older now and the frequency range of my hearing has certainly declined over the years (some of which is likely from Loud Music hearing damage at the upper end of the spectrum).I own both the XM4 and XM3 EarBuds… and this is likely the cause of my disappointment.For Audio Quality, the XM3’s STILL sound the best AT ANY VOLUME!! The XM4’s seem to only “loose steam”… at high volumes where the Bass frequencies become compressed as volume increases. The XM3 DOES NOT compress the bass frequencies until the absolute limit…The XM5 at starts compressing nowhere near what I call Loud, almost as if the ports are blocked or closed or something is creating standing waves…I needed these for my daily conference calls that last several hours multiple times a day, as the XM3’s for several hour use are simply too much weight only being supported by the ear canal. The XM4’s are a bit lighter and the XM5’s feel almost weightless in comparison. So, for ONLY that purpose, the XM5’s are definitely lightweight and do not hurt my ear canals after hours and hours of calls. However, the claim is that they outperform their predecessors, and they simply DO NOT!!So much so that to listen to music, I use my XM3’s and find it completely ridiculous that SONY has made their top earbud product a poor replacement of a predecessor from 8years ago.So, other than weight, I have no other reason to own these. It makes no sense that for $248 I have to deal with a product inferior to its predecessors!!

I previously had a WF1000XM4 but one ear went dead. Purchasing a new pair, I decided to go with the newer model. These are just as great and even smaller than last year.In between purchasing this, I tried to order a pair of Google Buds but they could not compare. The noise cancelation on these are next level. I'm always a fan of Sony products so I may be biased.

I own an XM5 purchased from Sony and it's amazing. However, DO NOT BUY from Beach Camera.I thought I was getting a better deal but they sent me used goods. The pre-installed ear tips had earwax on them (gross) and they weren't even the same size (left was small right was medium).If you're going to buy this product just get the earbuds and case separately (about same price as this bundle) from the manufacturer or you might get someone else's junk.

I lost a pair of first generation Bose quiet comfort earbuds that I loved. I decided to try the Sony because of the ability to be connected to 2 sources and reported ambient noise canceling on par with the Bose. Once I received the Sony I verified I had the proper fit using the tool in the app and verified I had the ambient noise canceling properly set up. I seemed to notice more bleed through of ambient sounds than I was used to. Wanting to give the Sony’s a fair try I took them on a plane trip to Atlanta. It became very clear that the ambient noise canceling was no where close to the Bose. In addition I had significant issues keeping them in my ear. To make sure I reverified that I had the right size and proper fit with the apps tool. The trip back I had the same issues. I will say the sound was very good. However if your looking for good noise canceling and earbuds that stay in I would recommend the Bose quiet comfort series.

I like the sound, the fit, the features. They're not a hi-fi headset, but they are a great pair of buds. Well thought out. Sony app is meh. Charging for 360 sound on $300 buds and expensive phones is disappointing.But 5 stars are earned.

The Battery life is so good! I have had the previous ones and these have more issues staying connected with the phone, but I think that's a software issue because when they were brand new I had no issues with connectivity. They fit better than the previous version and charge faster. The case quality still feels flimsy, but it holds up very well (I have dropped the case many times and it's still holding like when new). The one thing that I would change is the cushion that holds it in your ear... It's not good, everything sticks to it and they get disgusting real quick, so change those. Overall I would buy them again.

They fall out of my ears even when I tried all different size ear plugs and worse, the case doesn't stay shut so they fall out of the case if you are just holding them in your palm.When I do get them in I love the sound and the noise cancelling features but my frustration with fit and having almost lost them twice and they are less than a week old makes me scared to wear them outside the house.dissappointing
