Right out of the box, the finish and heft are impressive for a small tool. I expected a letdown from my old Stanley, But after putting a proper edge on the iron, this is a very nice and user friendly tool. I'm more than pleased for the price, it works as well as a plane I would have paid double for.

I have several block planes at home but needed one in Florida. Since I needed a plane for a quick project, I didn't want to spend too much. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived (about 12 hrs after ordering!). The blade was useable out of the box, although I did refine it a bit. The sole was decently machined and flat. The adjusting mechanism worked smoothly. Bottom line: a good plane at a very reasonable price.

Seems good considering it is inexpensive, however the blade does not really seem like high carbon steel ,Also I found the edges of the sole to be very sharp and had to give them a slight Round over with 600 grit before use ,we'll see how long it holds a edge........ Have been using this daily for over a week to scribe interior trim it has been outstanding, excellent quality! Changed my rating to 5 stars,

It's not a Lie-Nielsen, but at the price point, it is very good. The materials are good. It would be excellent for a carpenter as is, but for fine woodworking it needs a bit of work to take off the sharp edges and flatten a few spots on the sole. The paint is ugly but that is of no practical consideration.The plane that I received had some metal swarf from the machining process under the movable mouth plate in the recess that could have interfered with adjusting it, and one side of the mouth plate is slightly proud of the sole's surface. This will require flattening and the blade will need a touch-up, but that is to be expected.

What a lovely woodworking tool! Good quality, pretty heavy. Kind of frustrating to adjust height of blade but it works well when you finally find the right shave. I would recommend this tool. I am likely to buy more tools from this brand.

I had seen quite a few reviews about this plane before I decided to order. Seemed like a good value for the price. I'm a power tool guy, but I felt I needed to up my game by starting to learn more hand tools. I've never had much luck using a hand plane, but given the positive reviews on this one, I ordered it.Wow, I was so pleasantly surprised. Right out the box, I was able to get some pretty darn good shavings. After fiddling with the adjustments for a few minutes, I was able to get those smooth even shave ribbons that you see on YouTube. Sole seems really flat, and the iron is quite sharp. I will do some work flattening and sharpening it further. But, even without that, I got really good results; smoothing, chamfers, end grain, etc. Highly recommend.

Needed a lot of lapping on the sole, rough cut edges, and a piece of metal in the corner of the mouth broke out. I can see they used a thick blade which many will like and it is quality. The whole plane was wider and heavier than the original, which is not a benefit in my opinion. Price for product is good, but the product isnt really what i wanted.
