The hickory handles have changed in the past few years and now aren't as good - with less than half the amount of growth rings of the older faithful ones. But for the price, can't really complain. It's a walling hammer after all and it's purpose is to be used and abused in harsh conditions. Can always fit a nice English Ash wood handle if needs be if the fast grown Hickory one fails.

Extremely decent walling hammer - as good as any Northern style you'll buy on specialist websites. This is a well-made hammer that will do nicely for my occasional walling exploits. Nice in the hand, well balanced and a good weight.
