A sturdy little device
This ab wheel comes in three pieces, the middle wheel and the two 'handlebars', and according to the instructions it's important to ensure you put the bars on the right way round or you could have issues. It suggests you refer to the markings on the wheel to see which one goes where - I examined this damn thing practically under a microscope, but could not find these markings! Maybe I'm just dumb...Nonetheless it also said that if you did put them in the wrong holes, you'd find they come out easily - so I assume I managed to get it right by random selection, as they went in and aren't falling out.Once done, you have a nice solid tool that will take a good bit of weight easily. The hand grips are contoured to fit so comfortable to use, and the wheel itself is nice and thick so isn't wobbling about. It also has some kind of spring inside that give what they call 'rollback assistance' - basically it means the whole thing isn't going to just roll away from under you and leave you spark out on the floor! Nonetheless they suggest that to begin with you put yourself up against something solid so if you do go too far, you have something to stop you...You also get a foam mat to put under your knees which would be helpful if you're doing this on a hard floor. It's not huge, but better than nothing. This is overall a nice robust (and affordable) item that feels like it will last and do the job - I look forward to showing off my new chiselled abs next summer :)

Ergonomic and stable
I’ve always been a bit skeptical of those flashy ab roller contraptions. They seem too good to be true, promising rock-hard abs with minimal effort. So when I got my hands on the Meta1 ab roller and knee pad, I was prepared to be disappointed. The knee pad was a complete dud. It arrived curled around the roller, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get it to flatten out. It was so useless, I ended up tossing it in the bin and using a folded towel instead. The ab roller itself was a bit more promising. It was easy to assemble, with the handles sliding onto the central steel axle and locking into place with spring-loaded pins. However, I quickly discovered that the roller is directional. You have to use it in a specific direction, or it won’t work. I’m not entirely sure what the mechanism is doing that requires it to be used in a single direction, but I couldn’t feel any resistance from it.The instructions were also a bit lacking. They didn’t provide any guidance on exercises to use with the roller. It would have been helpful to have some suggestions on how to get the most out of the equipment. On the plus side, the handles are very ergonomic and comfortable. And the central wheel is wide enough to avoid crushing my carpet. It feels stable and sturdy, which is always a good thing when you’re putting your core to the test.Overall, the Meta1 ab roller is a mixed bag. The knee pad is a total waste of money, but the roller itself is decent. If you’re looking for a simple and effective way to strengthen your core, it might be worth a shot. Just be prepared to do some research on exercises to go along with it.
