Grado offers a 15 foot (450cm) extension cable terminated with a 1/4 inch (6.3mm) plug and a 1/4 inch (6.3mm) jack. This cable is constructed from the same high quality wire as their headphone cable. For longer lengths the cable may be piggybacked up to 3 cables. Grado guarantees no degradation of sonic quality with Grado headphones while using their extension cable.

It's a headphone cable. It's a quality cable made by Grado.
I bought this cable after checking out cables all over the internet. There were a lot of inexpensive cables available out there, as well as a few that were quite a bit more expensive than the Grado. I don't listen to headphones all the time but I needed a cable long enough to reach half way across the room and this was five feet longer than a lot of them I saw and that was enough for my needs. I've connected both my HD598's and HD600's to this cable and plugged it into my vintage Adcom preamp and my cans sound excellent. I don't hear any kind of sound degradation whatsoever. I'm a 53 year old man and probably don't hear as well as when I was 18 but I love music and it must sound excellent. I would recommend spending the $40 on this cable to anyone who appreciates good sounding music. It seems well built, as if it will last, and I think the connectors are superior to cheap cables. I also like that it doesn't get all tangled up due to the soft materials used in the manufacturing. This cable is noticeably softer than those cheap grey plastic $7 cables available at Radio Shack. Money well spent!

Excelent product
Works and sounds great. This is a well made product by audio a quality audio company. A little pricey, but has worked alot better than other cords I have purchase. Comes in a none resealable pouch. Would have liked a resealable pouch to store cord.

The best extension cable ever. Works with ALL headphones including Sennheiser!
This extension cable works fine with my Sennheiser HD700 and Musical Fidelity M1 HPAP headphone amplifier. I hear no sound degradation with the extension cable attached. There are reviews here stating that this cable only works with Grado headphones and fails to deliver when used with Sennheiser (high-ohm), which made me a little alarmed. However, those reviews are not true. This is a great quality extension cable, absolutely transparent and well built. There is one comparable alternative - a Mogami extension cable. However, it's 5' shorter, $30 more expensive and I was able to detect sound degradation with the Mogami extension cable. A little, not a lot, but the Grado cable transfers the signal unaltered.Equipment used in testing:1. Marantz SACD player SA80042. Rotel Preamplifier RC15503. Grado quality
I've used Grado headphones and turntable carts over the years and find them to be of good quality, this is no different.

I was surprised by the improvement
I never thought that an extension cable would affect sound quality. Therefore I have alway used "Radio Shack" like extensions. But after breaking one of my cheap cords, I bought this Grado. The price was not crazy high, so why not give it a try. Surprise! it made a difference.First my AKG712s always had a sweet vocal range. But the extension added depth to the mid bass that was always a bit thin. Then I moved up to my Grado Reference RS2s. No real change, but then I noticed that the RS2s had what appears to be the same, or similar cord construction. Therefore, it was just more of the same. Finally, I tested my Beyerdynamic T90s. I've always been a bit disappointed with these cans. The highs were a bit strident and the low end was lose. But the sound greatly improved with the Grado cable. They just sounded more solid throughout the audible range. It was then that I realized that I had never listened to these headphones without the use of an inexpensive extension before.BTW, amplification was straight out of an Oppo BDP-105 or through a Beyerdynamic A1 headphone amp fed by a conrad johnson preamp and Lector CDP-7MKII compact disc player.

high quality
I felt the price was rather expensive for "just" a cord but then it's really hard finding something of this length and quality so in that sense, it was worthwhile. I figure this cord is going to last pretty much forever so the cost per use or cost per year isn't that much. The Grado headphones I purchased (325iS) for whatever reason have a cord that is just too darn short so I needed an extension cord. I read the good reviews and decided to purchase this, especially since with a cable this long I would never run short. It is high quality, flexible, sturdy and I can't detect any sonic difference between using this cable as an extension versus plugging the headphones directly into the jack of the headphone amp. I'm glad I purchased this.

the best
I have two cheap extension cables and both suffer from poor connections. By this I mean I have to spend time inserting and removing and twisting the connection to get both channels to work. Not so with this product, it works as you would expect. Connect and listen. No matter how the cable is moved about it still works fine. Also as other reviews have mentioned there seems to be no insertion loss, that is there is no volume or sound quality lost when the extension cable is used. I do not pick up any hum or other noises which means the wiring is properly shielded. So if you are in the market for an extension cable for your headphones this is the one to get.

Nice cable
Sounds great with my Grado SR125 phones. I can tell no difference in the sound switching between the regular cable or through this extension, which is the way it should be. Previously I had a 15 foot cable from a seemingly respectable manufacturer, and was having problems with the L or R channel hissing or losing volume, which I traced to the coupling jack. Ditched that and bought this one, now all is well. A bit pricey, but I'll probably be using it for a very long time.

Câble Haute Fidèlité
Aucunes pertes sonores mëme que j’utilise a certain moment deux câble d’extension bout à bout et il n’y a pas de dégradation sonore. J’utilise avec une paire HD 660S Senheizer et très compatible.

Excellent for hi-Fi listening
I wanted a lossless headphone extension lead and Grado have a good reputation. The lead does not kink and has good quality jacks. I use the lead with both Quad electrostatic and Ultimate Ear in ear monitor speakers - the sound is excellent and the cabling makes for an unobtrusive listening experience. Recommended

If you have Grado headphones buy this extension .
Build and sound quality is great. Don't waste your money on other cheaper extensions.
