Review: Great amp at a great price - It is a Marshall and will give you most of the sounds of a JVM, which I hope to own one day. Dollar for dollar you can not get a better Marshall tube head. It gives you the sounds you want and you can get them all at low volumes. This amp sounds killer and gives me all of the sounds I am looking for. I wanted to get a Marshall years back and was talked into getting a different amp twice. Once I was talked into getting a Seymour Duncan convertible Half Stack and once into a Messa Boogie Cabinet. Both were mistakes as it did not give me the sound I was looking for. The Seymour Duncan was suppose to have modules you could switch and get any sound from Fender to Marshall and in between. It was a big mistake. The fact that they are not still making amps shows how big a mistake that was. This amp sounds great and has the Great Marshall Tone and some great clean sounds as well. Give this amp a test if you can. Just love this amp and love Marshall Amps in general. In the 80's most of the metal bands used Marshalls. For me I love the sound of tube amps and this amp sounds great.
Review: The Entire 60-Year History of Rock Guitar At Your Fingertips - Wow - this is a great, great amp! Initially skeptical because of the whole Made in Vietnam thing, but now I'm a believer. It's everything you expect from Marshall, and more. No matter how old you are, 20's or 50's, this has all the guitar sounds you grew up listening to, from classic overdrive of the 60s to modern cascaded gain stage full roar. And beautiful crystal clear cleans too. 2 channels, Classic Gain and Ultra Gain, have 2 modes each. So between the 4 modes - Clean, Crunch, Overdrive 1 and Overdrive 2 - you really can find any guitar sound that you can find on any recording of the last 60 years. An unexpectedly useful feature for me is the Tone Shift, which re-configures the amp's EQ for more of a modern "mid-scooped" sound made popular by Mesa/Boogie in the 90s. Don't worry about "Is it insane to have a 100 watt Marshall in my bedroom?" The amp is actually great sounding at low volume, even with a 4x12, and much more manageable than my Marshall Origin 50, which is deafening at even the lowest power setting. I read a few reviews of the amp failing - all I know is if something is defective it will probably fail right away, and I've used this almost every day of the 2 months I've had it, and I couldn't be happier! **************** UPDATE ****************** UPDATE *************** CHANGING ORIGINAL 5 STAR REVIEW TO 1 STAR Well I guess I jinxed myself by writing a 5 star review and talking about how other reviewers said amp failed but I’ve had no problems. The very next day after writing review this amp stopped working on low power setting - tubes lit but no sound at all. For whatever reason, IT STILL WORKS FINE ON HIGH POWER SETTING, but it doesn’t matter - broken is broken. Return window closed 3 weeks ago so now I have to figure out how to repair this thing, as if a bad design can be repaired haha.
