The umbrella spokes and pole are sturdy with a solid feeling crank handle. The 10kg base is rubberised, so even if u keep it on stone or concrete floor, it will grip well. The shade area is sufficient for a 3 seater garden bench. I would have probably liked the shade material to be slightly thicker, but nothing that's a deal breaker. The umbrella comes with a tiny wrench to screw in the nut for mounting the pole on the base, which is a thoughtful addition.
