Handy - the more you use use, the more you need it
First off, I am always happy with GearWrench (aka: KD TOOLS). I normally always buy tools made in USA, but, sometimes GearWrench merits an exception. These are made in Taiwan, but well-made in Taiwan. This is a useful tool for hard to reach places while doing automotive fixes. I advocate starting all bolts by hand to prevent crossthreading, and this is a good way to do it. You can add an extension / universal joint / etc. as you normally would, then swap the thumbwheel for the wrench handle when you've got it snug. How many times have you worked in a confined space and had to swing a ratchet 45 degrees at a time for what seems like a _long_ time before you really need the leverage of a handle anyway?Hard plastic handle, wipes clean easily. Good strong ratcheting action.

helpful, sturdy tools with good ratcheting action
one thing to note, despite the appearance in the picture, the size of the knob is actually the same on both the 1/4 and 3/8 drive. for me , this was as the tool is meant to provide access and maneuverability rather than max torque (you should already own a proper ratchet if youre shopping for these).the tools are built solid despite ther plastic case, the ratcheting action is very good (more teeth than i thought) and doesn't require much to ratchet (in other words, not a stiff mechanism). after cutting my knuckles on the radiator fins this past weekend , i look fwd to using these little guys next time i'm under the hood

thumbwheel ratchets
We use Snap On and Williams ratching palm style screwdrivers all day. Cant live without them. I bought a Gearwrench 1/4" drive socket set and it came with this 1/4" drive thumb wheel or palm ratchet. I oiled it up and started using it. It is exceptional, especially with 1/4" hex driver sockets. I liked it so much, I bought this two piece set for my home tool box. They are great if you do light duty low torque work.

I've been turning wrenches for 50 years though not for a living and WISH I'd bought these sooner!
Finally as part of a job under the dash of my '99 Silverado, I coughed up the money to buy these wrenches. I should have done it decades ago! The ability to turn a nut or bolt in tight quarters is priceless and until now I've struggled with spinning the extension or even wrapping some tape around a long socket to get the torque BUT these are AWESOME!!! The scalloped edge makes it easy to turn even when things are greasy and slick.

Cheap made
More like a knock off brand of toolI wouldn't buy againI purchased a different one and gave these away.

Black not red
I do wish they were red, that was one of the reasons I bought. Everyone knows black tools just disappear into the unknown. But other than that they work great.

Handy tool
Once you have these you'll find quite a few cases where they are more convenient than a basic ratchet.

excellent ratchets
The gearing is tight and close. The grip is soft on the fingers. They do what they're supposed to, require little clearance, and hold up under high torque loads. Altogether very well made. They get regular use on aircraft maintenance and are holding up well.
