Strait-Line 1932871 IRWIN Classic Chalk Reel, 50'

As advertised. Works well.

Worked great and didn’t leak chalk like I’ve had happen with other cheaply made products. Very easy to use and worth every penny! The case seemed very heavy duty but lightweight. Only complaint I do have is that the door is hard to open to pour the chalk in but not a bad thing either.

This is the second one of these I’ve owned. As I lost the first one. It’s probably in my garage somewhere or I left it at my last project. This has a nice long 50 foot string and it is easy to put in the chalk. Wants to chalk door is closed. It does not leak. Unlike some of the cheaper brands I’ve used. I recommend this unit and would buy again.

These are the rugged standbys. Dropping a cheap plastic reel on concrete 2 stories down is annoying on cleanup, especially with red chalk. Never had one of these crack open.

Wouldn’t allow me to give no stars! I had to cut the string and redo it three times now after using it twice. The string gets caught on the guide and frays so it won’t come out. I do not recommend this item. I have used Irwin for more than 40 years since I first got into construction. Still have one that looks like this from when I first started, but this chalk box is not even close. Very, Very Poor product; manufactured by a company that seems to not care about the little things such as burrs, chalk doors that don’t work well. Irwin you’ve lost me as a customer.
