Product Description Stephen Dorff (Blade) and Academy Award(r) winners Mira Sorvino (Best Supporting Actor, Mighty Aphrodite 1995) and Anjelica Huston (Best Supporting Actor, Prizzi's Honor 1985) star in this globe-spanning tale of action and intrigue, based upon the bestselling series written by Robert Ludlum (The Bourne Identity, The Osterman Weekend). Colonel Jonathan Smith (Dorff) is a disease specialist and former secret agent for Covert One, an elite intelligence agency made up of political and technical experts that report directly to the President (Huston). When an unknown deadly virus begins to surface, Smith is called into action to find and isolate the source before the outbreak can endanger millions of lives. Featuring an all-star supporting cast including Blair Underwood (Rules of Engagement) and more, it's a race against time for Covert One to stop the virus and uncover the truth behind a conspiracy at the highest and most dangerous levels of society. .com Based on Robert Ludlum's novel, The Hades Factor puts a bio-terrorism spin on a good old-fashioned spy thriller storyline for this tense TV miniseries. Stephen Dorff is top-billed as a former spy turned medical researcher who is pulled back into the espionage business when a new and mysterious disease erupts simultaneously in three military-sensitive regions. The target of the investigation centers on another covert operative (Mira Sorvino), who made off with a black-market virus in the middle of a government sting. The film's solid cast, which includes Blair Underwood and two Hustons--Danny and Anjelica (as the U.S. President)--helps the suspension of belief required for this sort of story considerably, and director Mick Jackson delivers the required amount of action at a brisk and engaging clip. Squeamish viewers should know that the outbreak scenes are particularly grisly for a television production. --Paul Gaita

Great book Great series
I can't wait for an author to continue the series, I have finished all available books in the Covert One Series and wish someone would start a new one in that series. As your reading, you wonder when Rondi, the C.I.A. Agent, or Marty, the computer wizard, or Peter from MI6 agent will show up to help the Ltcol. I love the series.

Confused, Confusing, but Good Thriller
Overlong for one sitting but generally interesting secret agent thriller. I don't know the actors but their performances fit the need of the plot. Naturally, in one of these New Cold War thrillers, nobody is who he/she seems to be, turncoats are a normal phenomenon, and you can't tell the good guys from the bad; in fact, the good guys are often bad. Said to be based on a Robert Ludlum novel which I did not read, so I have no advice for those who did, as to how movie and book matched up. For the politically inclined there are the typical traces of anti-Capitalism and anti-Americanism to satisfy some part of the potential movie audience. With everything else going on, this would appear to have little relevance to the film nor to one's pleasure/pain at viewing. There are a couple of featured women but their sexual attraction is not dwelt on in the film; given my perspective I do not know whether there are any sexy men appearing. Oh, yes, there is a Madame President of the United States but I don't know whether that was in anticipation of Secretary Clinton's future or simply an audience builder for women who, studies show, are less attracted than men to this kind of film.Overall, this should satisfy the thriller aficionados and, except for the length, most general viewers.

OY VEY WHAT A DOG PILE
the most dithering pile of incomprehensible drivel ever made.... muddled, incomprehensible, disjointed, childish nonsenseI have absolutely no idea what the hell was going on . The star is for Mira Sorvino who is fighting sex traffiking in her off timeThe director should be shot ...the writers should have their feet put in the fire till they promise to never write againOy vey what a tedious BUBAMEISER. I PRAYED FOR..HOT NEEDLES IN MY EYEBALL AFTER TWO HOURS...Who are the A Holes that give this dog pile 5 stars ...I hope they all get EBOLA ...

It's a real stinker.
With academy award winners Mira Sorvino and Anjelica Huston in the film and using Robert Ludlum novel as the story basis (The Bourne Series) you would think the main character (Stephen Dorff) would have a more convincing performance. It’s too long, the acting is poor - or at least inadequately directed and the plot that lacks movement. You see events coming long before the characters do which makes it tedious. The conspiracies are many and only convolute the story line with no real connection of who's working for whom. It's really a stinker, would not recommend it's not worth the fee.

Wish I'd made another viewing choice.
I love thrillers. I've been known to watch low-rated movies, and I've enjoyed them. This plot has been worked several times in several ways. Not a problem since the movie's writers and directors can create suspense and twists to keep the viewers attention. The casting was off and the characters just didn't fit. Since I am not a professional critic, I'll stop here and let more experienced and talented reviewers carry the ball.I watched the whole thing, but I wish I made another choice.
