Perfect for why I bought it. I wanted a windows laptop that could run Protools Studio and other recording/ digital media editing software. Nice picture, fast start up, 64 ram is great and 2Tb SS drive. Touch screen is cool for building guitar rigs on a Fender Tone Master Pro. Does exactly what got it for. No Complaints. Chris

just received my new HP computer, just like my 10 year old HP but 1000 times faster, Happy, easy to set up with office 365, transfered my old files with an external hard drive to new computer. only thing I am missing is it does not have a SD card slot, will have to purchase a 12 dollar SD reader to USB

We bought this machine to ensure that my wife had a reliable machine to finish her online degree. Within less than 3 months the hard drive failed so no bootup. Contacted HP and after 4 days of dealing with incompetency, finally was authorized to ship the product to HP repair center in Mexicali, Ca. I received notification from Fedex that the product had arrived and for the next four days I received emails and texts asking when my package would arrive. (They sent the shipping label and box, so they had the tracking info). the day after they acknowledged receipt they shipped it back and sent me an email stating that we had caused a failure and they wouldn't cover the repair. As a retired (26 year) Navy Computer Tech I have bought quite a few HP printers and laptops. There will never be another HP product purchased by me.

Also, my previous laptop had a 1920x1080 screen. This screen is a definite downgrade in sharpness. I don't use Windows anymore, so I immediately replaced the SSD with a new one and installed Linux Mint on it. It took a while, but I got Mint configured to where I'm happy with it. The touchscreen works under Linux Mint, but I prefer it to be off, so it's turned off completely. Linux has a way of disabling (or re-enabling if desired) the touchscreen. The touchpad is too sensitive. If you press it just a little too hard, while navigating the screen, the cursor wants to select everything that it contacts. It's a pain in the butt to get it out of that mode, so I use a USB mouse most of the time, instead, which is fine for work, but not so good if you want to use the device on your lap. Also, I find that a 17-inch laptop too large for my tastes while using it on my lap. Processing power is great. The processor shows up having 12 cores. It's speedy enough to handle multiple virtual machines (VMs) running at the same time (4 running concurrently). With several VMs running at the same time, I've come nowhere close in peaking out the 64 GB of RAM. There is no AI in this version of Linux Mint and I'm completely fine with that. In fact I relish not having any built-in spyware from Microsoft. Power consumption is nowhere near what my previous laptop could do. The battery will only last about 2.5 to 3 hours depending on the workload even with "power saver" mode engaged. My LG laptop could go 4.5 to 5 hours under daily workloads. Speaking of power, there is no charging through the USB C port. That would've been another deal-breaker if I'd had known about it before purchasing this device. Final words: Your Mileage May Vary (YMMV). It will be highly dependent on your needs. Is it worth the price tag? In my opinion, no. I wouldn't buy it again knowing what I know now, but it is what it is and I needed a replacement immediately, but didn't want to spend much more than a grand on it. /

Boots up quickly. Does everything quickly. Love the touchscreen. Use this for PowerPoint presentations which it excels at.

This laptop is super fast I got HP 17" i7 processor 2TB SSD 64GB RAM - amazing performance for the price. Very nice large display, nice backlit keyboard, loving the fingerprint authentication to sign into the computer and it has at least 2 USB ports and 1 usbc port and It's also compatible with my old Dell dock so connects perfectly to my external monitor. Also the wifi is extremely fast ! Owned for one month so far Would definitely recommend a good buy.
