Great resource for Norwegian language learners!
This is really a fantastic addition to the set of books available for Norwegian language learners. Where it really excels is in its focus on the most common kinds if words, objects, actions, and situations encountered in everyday life, expressed in contemporary language. This makes it wonderful both for those still early in the process of learning the language, and also for those somewhat further along who have difficulty finding books that cover common everyday situations and topics. There has always been a bit of a gap between the very early readers, which are typically children's books, adaptations of fairy tales, translations of comic books, etc., and more advanced adolescent or adult fiction. As a result, it's easy to find yourself after a few years of reading Norsk books to be skilled in talking about trolls, penguins, and murder investigations, but at a loss to describe things you might do around the house, or talk about with a friend or work colleague. This book nicely fills that gap, and I hope the author will write many more!

Super helpful
I found this book really helpful in expanding my Norwegian vocabulary in an entertaining way. I wish there were more books like this available.

Fun story with modern idiomatic language; useful for all levels
Anita has been my Norwegian conversation tutor for many years and I was excited when she told me she was writing a story to teach modern idiomatic Norwegian. I have been studying Norwegian for decades, where I went straight from beginning basic language to journalistic and academic Norwegian. Guri og talantkonkurransen is perfect for filling in the gap of conversational, everyday language that my previous studies skipped over. The book is an excellent addition to the library of anybody learning Norwegian.
