Fantastic for chip cards!
I bought one of these at a big box retailer years and years ago and was so disappointed when the elastic that holds the end cap finally wore out. (It had been well over a decade - definitely got my $$ worth.) I was lamenting to a friend about my poor dead little card holder and he suggested Amazon - OF COURSE!! So excited to have this back - it's perfect in a bag or right in your pocket (not going to bend, crush, damage ANYTHING in there, trust me). It's slim but big enough for 5 or 6 cards, and certainly keeps them protected. I bought two - one for me and one for the friend that suggested Amazon... He deserves a reward!

Worth every penny.
If you are looking for an easy access card case that lacks the bulk of other cases, I would give this a try. There haven't been many things I've owned in the last ten years that I used every day, that I felt owed me nothing when they called it quits. I purchased this to replace the first one I owned when the bungee elastic snapped- after 7 years of daily use. The case opens at one end as shown in the picture. The bands stretch and you flip the cap out of the way. The metal housing itself is extremely durable, and weathers all forms of abuse without looking shabby. Because it is thin, it will only hold 8-10 credit card sized cards. This will depend on the thickness of the cards, a credit card versus something like a membership card. It fits into any pocket easily, and if in a back pocket consider it crush proof. After 7 or so years of owning the first one there are a few things that I noticed. Some people will ask you what it is and where you bought it. I have never had it open on it's own. Anytime I have dropped cards, it took a major effort on my part. I only keep cards in it. Folded bills were difficult to fish out ( I dislike money clips, but search on Thumbsquare if you're looking for one ) and the sound of change banging around inside a metal container was too much for me. You end up keeping it in the pocket that doesn't have your keys or other metal in it. Unless you like the sound of scraping and clanging. When you check your pockets, you can mistake it for your cell phone. Somewhere there's an orphan smart phone I left behind because I thought I had it when I patted myself down and felt this case. I bought two in case they aren't making them if the cord on my new one breaks in 7 years.

So convenient, perfect , will hold 5-7 cards
Great wallet been using these for over aroumd 10 years now i think this is my 3rd one . Eventually the bungee will braek or get too stretched out to hold the end on tighly. They used to cost aroumd 4-5 dollars each so...the price has nearly doubled.... Best part is when i have accidentally left it anywhere llike on a shelf at a store...its always right where i left it ..people domt recognize it as a wallet ...i sort of love that! It fits perfectly in a back pocket...if you have em...AND breast pocket IN my northface jackets also fits perfectly in a small flip top camera case with wrist loop....which means my purse can stay in the car. ..

A Bit Overpriced, But Durable
I used to be able to find these under $10, so to pay almost $20 felt like a lot BUT I like the design so much I'd do it again if I had to. Scratch resistant, can take a hefty beating, and the elastic is so secure that it's literally impossible for the cards to fall out. I have looked at dozens of minimalist wallets but this design by far is the best, in my opinion. It does not store cash, so if that's a feature you're looking for then this isn't the product for you. But if you want something just for cards and perhaps a key, this is absolutely the way to go. My favorite part: it's not immediately obvious by looking at it that it contains plastic money - if you're like me and sometimes leave things laying on counters in stores and have to go back for it, there's a good chance nobody will even take notice of it while you're gone - awesome safety feature:)

Simple solution
Simple design. Decent quality. I had a Ridge wallet made of metal. The two metal sides held together with elastic bands caused wear to my credit cards. And dust or dirt would get inside. With the Umbra design your cards are inside an enclosed container. No wear. No dust or dirt inside. I like it a lot. I have two. One for my credit cards. One for my license and other cards. Only improvement I could suggest would be to make them truly waterproof. They seem to protect my cards from moisture, but not sure I’d feel safe dropping it in the pool. Overall very highly recommended.

Been using umbra wallets for 10+ years
I got my first umbra wallet more than 10 years ago, and only recently had to replace it with this one as the plastic ends were finally so chipped and cracked that I decided to replace it (but it still worked!) Love that these force you to stay organized and not keep useless receipts, 1000 gift cards, etc.I'm holding 9 standard-sized cards, and 3 small paper insurance cards. A few changes from the older version - 1) The bungee cord is now either thinner or more tightly stretched - I'm not sure which, but it will likely result in reduced lifespan unless they up the quality. 2) the plastic ends now appear to be a softer nylon plastic. The old ones were a hard cap. Not a good or bad thing, just a difference. 3) The biggest difference is that there's now 4 small "feet" in the bottom of the case that I find a bit frustrating. My old one didn't have these. When the new wallet is at capacity, the closet and furthest cards tend to stick out an extra 5mm or so and won't sit flush with the other cards. 4) My old wallet, I could simply push on the side of the top plastic bit, and it would flip open easily, making it a one-handed task. The new one takes significantly more pressure and requires two hands. I imagine with some wear or a bit of filing I can round off the nubs that hold the top plastic in place.

I'm onto my third one of these in about 10 years. They are great. They limit what you carry in your wallet, but it can easily take 6 cards with raised lettering + 5 "flat" cards (you need to "interleave" the raised lettering cards). Previous ones have failed in different ways; sometimes the elastic, sometimes the plastic has snapped, but it has had daily use for 3-4 years at a time, so no complaints.

No more snapped cards. Solidly built.

I love this card case. It works so well for me to easily find all my cards.

This is my second one of these, I bought my first one in 1994! I had to change the bungee cord once but the case itself is incredibly durable.

J'ai un étui comme celui là depuis au moins 10 ans et il est toujours fonctionnel. Les cartes sont bien protégées et la fermeture est automatique. Gain de temps. Je l'offre aux anniversaire de mes proches car tout le monde le trouve super.
