Excellent
Back in the day this was my grandparents tea of choice and I am really pleased to say that the taste hasnt changed. Transports me back to the 70s and 80s somewhat. How can it be described. A typical English tasting tea when added with milk that has its own sweetness, very refreshing. Whilst other teas go on about a thousand and one woderful things that they do PG simply gets on with it and provides satisfaction in every cup. Better than almost all other supermarket teas.

Great tea
I love PG Tips, and have been drinking it for several years now. Because of all of the microplastics in the glue in tea bags, I decided to switch to loose leaf. It tastes great, just takes a couple of minutes to steep, and has lots of flavor. It's much cheaper to buy in bulk. Then I transfer it to a jar as needed.

Very good mid-field every day brew
This is a good “builders’ tea.” Not fancy, not bottom of the barrel. Brews a tasty cuppa, the flavor comes through milk very pleasingly. Not as bitter as some blends from northern England. Not as malty as the Scots prefer. It’s my go to journeyman brew. Note: It IS CTC (Crushed,Twisted,Curled) tea so be prepared for a pre-steep “ground coffee” appearance, but not at all dusty. Still, I use disposable bags because it does unfurl to annoying bits. Very minor issue due to modern processing methods. I save the froofy whole leaf teas for the occasional toffee nosed performance treats. Five stars because it delivers what’s advertised in spades.

Worst lose lead black tea, no flavor, tiny bits
I used to drink PG tips years ago, even cut open bags to brew it as lose leaf. Since some of my favorite other brands have gone up in price I thought I would give this bulk pack of PG a try. Terrible mistake, I dumped out this mornings entire pot of tea. I just tried almost double tea and a short brew. That is better but still pretty bad, reminds me now of generic store brand tea bags. The older PG was a bold tea with little nuance. This is brown water with some tanins. No body and very little aroma, no complexity. It's worse than forgotten tea I found in the pantry 10 years old! The actual "leaves" are ground so fine it clogs my tea strainer. For a cheap cup I strongly recommend choosing other low cost teas like Yorkshire Red or Brooke Bond Red.

My favorite tea
This is my favorite tea: smooth and delicious, no aftertaste, perfect with milk and sugar. I keep coming back to it no matter which other teas I try, as it has the perfect flavor for a reasonable price. I make a 1200 ml pot with five slightly overfull teaspoons of tea and steep for eight minutes.
