Excellent doorbell that works brilliantly as part of a wider eufy system
I've been using the eufy Security Video Doorbell E340 alongside a eufy C31 pan and tilt camera, both connected through the HomeBase Mini with a 256GB microSD card. Having everything running through the same eufy app makes the whole system very convenient to manage. The doorbell itself has been excellent. The dual-camera setup gives a much better view than a conventional single-camera doorbell, particularly when it comes to seeing what's happening directly in front of the door and further down towards the ground. The picture quality is very clear, and the colour night vision is a particularly useful feature. The ability to see visitors clearly even when the lighting isn't great gives me much more confidence in the footage. I also really like the Delivery Guard and package detection. Being able to monitor parcels and receive notifications when something has been left at the door is genuinely useful. The fact that it can be used wirelessly or wired gives plenty of flexibility when deciding where to install it. Battery operation is convenient, while wired installation is ideal if you don't want to worry about charging the battery. Another major advantage is that there are no monthly subscription fees. The doorbell has its own 8GB of storage, while I've also got the HomeBase Mini paired with a 256GB microSD card for additional storage. Having the doorbell and C31 camera accessible from the same app makes it feel like one complete security system rather than separate devices. Pros: Excellent picture quality Dual-camera design Useful Delivery Guard/package detection Colour night vision Wired or battery powered Built-in 8GB storage Works with HomeBase Mini Can use larger microSD storage No monthly subscription Works seamlessly alongside my C31 pan and tilt camera Everything controlled from one app Cons: Battery life will obviously depend on how frequently the doorbell is activated. Initial setup takes a little time if you're integrating it with other eufy devices. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the E340. Paired with the C31 pan and tilt camera, HomeBase Mini and 256GB microSD card, it gives me a very capable home security setup with everything accessible from one app and, importantly, without an ongoing subscription. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to build or expand a eufy security system.

Excellent Video Doorbell – Packed with Features and No Subscription Fees!
I’ve been really impressed with the Eufy E340 video doorbell. It’s reliable, has excellent video quality, and offers loads of useful features that make it a fantastic addition to my home security setup. One of the best features is the dual-camera system. Having a second camera pointing downwards is genuinely useful for seeing parcels left on the doorstep, which is something many other video doorbells struggle with. You can clearly see whether a delivery has arrived and keep an eye on packages while they’re waiting to be collected. It can even alert you if a package is moved, which is a great feature for anyone who regularly has deliveries. The video quality is very good, providing clear footage when you need to see who’s at the door or check what’s happening outside. The motion detection is also excellent and can be adjusted to suit your needs, helping you get useful notifications without being overwhelmed by unnecessary alerts. Battery life is another massive selling point. I’ve found it incredibly long-lasting, with the battery lasting for months rather than needing constant recharging. If you want to minimise downtime even further, I’d recommend buying a spare battery. You can simply swap them over when needed rather than having your doorbell out of action while the battery charges. Where this doorbell really shines is when paired with the Eufy HomeBase S380 and an additional Eufy chime. The extra chime means you can hear the doorbell further inside your home, while the HomeBase adds further functionality, including AI-powered recognition features that can help identify people, vehicles, animals and packages in alerts. It makes the whole system much more useful and gives you a better understanding of what’s happening outside without needing to open the app every time you receive a notification. Another massive advantage is that there are no subscription fees required to store your footage. This is one of the main reasons I’d choose Eufy over alternatives such as Ring, where many features and cloud storage options can involve ongoing subscription costs. With Eufy, you can build a capable home security system without committing to another monthly payment. Pairing it with the HomeBase also gives you local storage options, which is a big plus. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this doorbell. Between the dual cameras, excellent video quality, long battery life, reliable motion detection, package monitoring and integration with the wider Eufy ecosystem, it offers a fantastic range of features. The ability to expand the system with a HomeBase and additional chime makes it even better. If you’re looking for a reliable video doorbell with excellent features and no compulsory monthly subscription for storing footage, I’d highly recommend the Eufy E340. It’s a great piece of kit and well worth considering for anyone looking to improve their home security.

Save your money - this doorbell is a genuine disappointment
⭐ (1 star; only because I can't give it a zero star) I really wanted to like this Eufy doorbell, but it has been a waste of money from day one. If you take nothing else from this review: please, please do not waste your hard-earned money on this. Where to start. The app is painfully slow — every time someone's at the door and I open the app to see who it is, it takes over a minute just to connect to the camera. By the time the feed finally loads, whoever was there has long since given up and left. A doorbell camera you can't view in real time defeats the entire purpose. It also doesn't work with Alexa, despite being exactly the kind of smart home integration I bought it for. So no hands-free announcements, no pulling up the feed on my Echo Show — nothing. The "smart" detection is anything but. It doesn't recognise humans at all, and the motion sensor is pathetic - it misses people walking right up to the door, then randomly fires at nothing. To top it off, it keeps sending me notifications that a package has been delivered when absolutely nothing has arrived. I've run to the door for phantom deliveries more times than I can count. Slow, unreliable, no Alexa support, useless detection, and phantom alerts. It's a waste of money, plain and simple. Do yourself a favour and buy literally anything else.

Good deterrent to trespassers
Bought when it was on sale. I chose this specific camera because our front door has a couple of steps up to it so other cameras wouldn’t cover lower down, where parcels tend to get left. We had had a couple of items stolen from our doorstep so this was meant as a deterrent. I also didn’t want to get locked in to a subscription service like Ring. The positives: I feel it works as a really good deterrent for people who might be trying to access your property for nefarious purposes. When the camera detects movement a light on it comes on to show it is recording, which is even more apparent at night. Recordings are clear and good quality. The app is easy to use. We’ve set up alerts from the app to our phone so we know when someone is on our drive or has rung the doorbell - very handy when you’re in the garden! The bad: Getting a second battery is pretty much essential. Battery life is reasonable but it takes a few hours to recharge and unless you have a spare you are without any sort of doorbell during this time. Getting the alert sensitivity set up was a bit of a faff to strike the balance between not getting a push notification every time someone walks past your house and not knowing when there’s someone in your front garden. Setting zones is your friend here. If, like me, you went for the doorbell alone without the base station on the understanding it would work with Alexa devices, there are some issues. There’s a noticeable delay - up to 5 seconds - between the doorbell being pressed and the audible alert going off. Sensitivity also seems to be variable - sometimes you get 20 alerts in the space of 5 minutes because someone is taking the bins out, whilst the same day someone can walk up your driveway without it triggering (this doesn’t happen very often to be fair). The function of using the app to talk to someone at your door (telling the postman where to leave a package when you’re out of the house etc) has never worked that well for me - you need to have a good internet connection on your phone and even when it works the lag is such that the person has probably left before you manage to speak to them.

Really pleased with the quality
Really pleased with the quality. The picture is crystal clear and it works well for us alongside our security camera. Would recommend as there are no subscription charges. Easy to add the device onto our existing app

Superior to Ring in almost every way
I got sick and tired of the connection issues and battery failures in my Ring 2 doorbell, and I was attracted by the local storage when combining this with the Homebase. I've got to say I have been very pleased with the speed of responsiveness on the app when the doorbell rings or parcels are delivered. The second camera for parcels is an excellent addition and works incredibly well. The connectivity seems so much better than all the Ring doorbellss I have owned. The battery charging from my hardwired chime is also much better. Dare I say, perfect! The one issue I had was with connecting to Alexa. Which is why I say better in almost every way. I like to have my home assistants announce when the doorbell rings as my wife is hard of hearing and we have a garden office so this works with the dot we have in there. This is the only dimension where Ring scores better, the seamless connection to Alexa. Initially Alexa only detected the Eufy Homebase and not the doorbell connected to it. One call to Eufy support and they fixed it. Had to disconnect my skill and reconnect it ( which I had tried before) and this time it found both the Homebase and the Doorbell. Again the speed of notifications on all my Alexa devices is very good. Just a second or two behind when the doorbell rings. I can safely say that a week in, this doorbell has successfully solved all the issues I had with Ring. Plus I am no longer paying a subscription. I also discovered Eufy is owned by Anker which is a company I have a lot of excellent power banks, speakers and headphones from and like very much. If you are sick if constant problems with Ring like I was you will not be disappointed with this. Only problem is I need to fill the holes left in my wall by the Ring fixings. The Eufy doorbell is much sleeker with 2 fixings and sadly there is no way to match any of them to the old Ring template.

Goodbye Ring, Hello Eufy
Oh, the saga of my doorstep security! It’s a tale that takes us from the clutches of subscription fees to the land of eufy enlightenment. Let me regale you with the story of how I swapped out my Ring doorbell for the majestic eufy Security Video Doorbell E340—and why it’s the best home upgrade decision I’ve ever made. Once upon a time, I was a loyal subject of the Ring kingdom. But as their subscription fees soared like a dragon over the land—42% increase, my fellow villagers!—I knew it was time to seek a new guardian for my realm. Enter the eufy E340, a beacon of hope in the dark night of expensive subscriptions. Why is the eufy E340 the crown jewel of doorbells, you ask? Let’s start with the video quality. If my old Ring was a muddy peasant, then eufy is the crystal-clear prince. Watching my front porch in Full HD is like having a front-row seat at a theatre where the daily drama of deliveries and doorstep visitors unfolds in Oscar-worthy clarity. And the night vision? A revelation! It turns night into day, revealing all the nocturnal critters and late-night pizza deliveries in stunning detail. It’s like being bestowed with the gift of sight by a benevolent wizard. But perhaps the most enchanting feature is the lack of subscription fees. Yes, my friends, the eufy E340 offers all its glory without demanding tribute. Every feature, every notification, every magical moment caught on camera is mine without additional cost. It’s like finding a treasure chest in your backyard that never empties. Installation was a breeze, a fairy tale of simplicity. I half expected woodland creatures to come and assist, so smooth and easy was the process. And the eufy app? A loyal squire at your side, making setup and daily use as easy as waving a wand. Now, let us not forget the two-way audio feature, a feature so crisp and clear that it rivals the town crier. Conversations with visitors are now less “What did you say?” and more “Ah, yes, delightful weather we’re having.” In closing, the eufy Security Video Doorbell E340 has not just replaced my Ring; it has utterly dethroned it. Everything about this doorbell is superior. The increase in Ring’s subscription fee was the push I needed to discover this gem, and oh, what a gem it is. So, to those standing at the crossroads of doorbell dilemmas, wondering which path to take, let me guide you to the eufy E340. It’s not just a step up—it’s an ascension to the throne of doorstep security. Five stars? No, this doorbell deserves a crown.

Great Camera, Poor Software, Zero Security!!
UPDATE: So eufy did reach out to me regarding my comments, etc, and have taken some genuine steps towards resolving my issues. I have to say, they deserve top marks for their service and attention. I just hope that in this with the doorbell, the software can quickly catch up too to the quality of the hardware and their service. ~~~~~ I'm currently using a Netatmo security camera, and wired Ring doorbell which has some issues, so this is replacing that. Installation is very easy; align the back plate, drill two holes, and fit. If you've got the power wires, you can hook those up too; cable adapters are provided (very nice). All in all, as simple as you can get. However, unlike my Ring camera which has a torx screw to keep it locked to the bracket, this essentially has nothing. It clips into the bracket, but just needs a pin to release. And it doesn't appear to be that strong which means that someone could in theory just rip it off with their bare hands. At least with the Ring camera you'd have the video backed up to the cloud (and they'll replace the camera if this ever happens). With this one, as everything is stored on the camera... as soon as it's gone, its gone! Bye bye. That's not good. Anyway, setup is relatively straight-forward. Download the Eufy app, set up an account and it'll generate a QR code for the camera to see to configure itself, which worked without fuss. It connected and worked immediately, and took you through all the steps to mount and configure it. However, after you've done this, it's very confusing at first where to find the menu options. Everything is buried behind pages of useless faff and advertising for other products, etc. Eventually I worked it out, but it made me work for it, which it shouldn't need to. That definitely needs rethinking about. The camera does have onboard AI, so it can detect a person... but that's about it. My Netatmo (which is 8 years old) also has detection, but can detect people, vehicles, animals, etc. Shame that 8 years on, this can't do that, which limits it's functionality somewhat. Responsiveness-wise, when I'm home connected to the same WiFi network, it's pretty quick. However, it does disconnect a lot too; I prefer to have my front-door streamed on my Assistant Screens, and the feed cuts out after a minute or two when my Netatmo keeps going. Shame. As for when I'm out and about, it spends a lot of time trying to establish a secure connection. OK, I get the need for security, but it's so slow about it. Ring used to connect more or less immediately, so there's definitely some slowdown here that needs to be addressed. Perhaps the free service isn't worth what you pay for. The recordings are stored onboard, so if/when that breaks, then your camera is broken. Not sure why they didn't go with making an SD card storage option available (my Netatmo has this). At least that's easily replaceable. Also, this thing is big and chunky, and doesn't sit flush against the wall. That issue aside, the hardware is great, but the software and implementation lets it down majorly... that could be improved in the future, and I hope it is. Would I recommend something else? Not really; I needed a wired video doorbell, and this seemed to be the best one, despite the other issues. I also prefer the PQ of this over my Ring camera, and also not having to pay £30-odd a year for recordings.

Dobry dzwonek
Dwie kamery, głośnik, AI, wytrzymała bateria i super wygląd to główne zalety. Dodatkowo braku jakichkolwiek opłat miesięcznych. Wady to niedopracowana AI bo nie zawsze rozpoznaje osoby i wykwywa ruch poza wyznaczonym obszarem co jest irytujące. Aplikacja do obsługi średniej jakości z błędnymi tłumaczeniami i błędami.

Ottimo prodotto e assistenza top!!
