I like it and I'll probably get some more when this hefty tub runs out. Some reviews comment about the package. One thing is, the lid has a strip you can pull off all the way around quite easily. Without that, yes, it would be really hard to get into. But once you do open it correctly there's no way to seal it back. It tastes good, but one thing about it is that it really sticks to your gums and the roof of your mouth if you just eat it by the spoon full. I find it's better to mix it with other stuff, like pasta or rice or peas. I should give four stars since I have these minuses, but since I've never tried any other kind I have nothing to compare it to. It's tasty, nutritious, and cheap.

Good quality at a great price. I use nutritional yeast in so many things for my plant based diet. This abundant bucket enables me to make all my own seasoning and flavor mixes so I can avoid store bought, processed, chemical filled products. The bucket was easy to.open and I have no trouble getting in and reclosing it. Worth every penny!

We love this stuff. It adds a cheesy/nutty flavor to just about everything. We keep a spice shaker of it on the table for sprinkling over virtually every meal. It makes a great addition to sauces, acting as a thickener as well as a flavoring agent. It also works in breading (for fried veggies and such), and in certain baked goods. There's no shortage of recipes on the Internet that use it! It's fortified with Vitamin B12, which is good if your meals don't include meat or dairy.Our family comprises just my wife and me, but we consumed an entire tub in less than two years. If you keep the tub sealed most of the time, it has a great shelf life. To avoid opening the tub a lot, we fill a quart jar periodically and use that for regular access.

Wanted more B vitamins from a natural source. Got that and more besides. I'm feeling better (and I already felt good). Now my morning fruit smoothie is a more nutritious, filling meal. Glad I got it, RED STAR Nutritional Large Yeast is now a permanent part of my diet.P.S. I got this brand because it was one of five that tested for NO lead.

It's much cheaper than the small portions I find at the grocery store. I had no issues with any contamination, and it's very much the delicious umami powder that I expect. The bucket is indeed tough to close and open, so I recommend having a smaller container to portion it into for regular usage.

Finally found this product in bulk, we use so much nooch it’s ridiculous! Good price and product.

I read the reviews about how impossible this thing is to open and I thought, "no problem, my handyman boyfriend will be able to open it." Just as I read before, the pull strip that is supposed to tear off just snapped right away. No big deal. But as my boyfriend was precisely cutting along the (almost non-existent) groove where the pull-tab is supposed to run, he slipped and got a huge DEEP slice across the side of his thumb!!! I almost passed out. I LOVE this brand of nutritional yeast, but this fiasco was NOT worth the $32 I saved compared to buying six 1-lb bags
