Excellent security camera
We have had an an Arlo security camera It was mounted on a south facing wall and when the sun shone directly on it, the camera took a recording, sometimes it took dozens of false recordings a day with no one there at all. There is no way to stop it doing this. We have just replaced it with a eufy Security SoloCam S340 & we are very please with it. We have mounted it in exactly the same position that the Arlo camera was positioned & there are NO false recordings activated by the sun. We used a square wooden fence post cap with a large screw positioned in the middle of it to fasten it to the house wall & screwed the camera bracket onto fence post cap. The Eufy camera was very ease to set up. We have an EE smart router with fast fibre broadband. It has 2 band speeds, 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz. The Eufy camera uses the 2.4GHz band speed & we had to temporarly disable the 5GHz band speed in order to synchronise the camera to the EE router. There are various settings on the camera, We set it for humans & vehicles & it records every time it sees a person or a vehicle, the picture is superb both day & night. From the security app we can swivel the camera & we can set a light to come on which shows the picture in colour at night. We charged the camera from the mains using the USB socket before fitting & positioned the solar panel on top of the camera. It keeps fully charged. This is an excellent security camera & we are very pleased with it.

Good quality product that works well.
A really excellent piece of kit. This camera works really well and way better than the expensive Google product with it's expensive subscription. No subscription needed here. Ours faces north and you can imagine it gets hardly any Sun light but the battery is staying fully charged. The motion detection and the camera following people is really good. It was easy to fit, just charge it up put it together and mount it. I fixed mine to a piece of treated wood and fixed the wood to the wall and the clipped on the camera. The images day and night are of good quality. I can't find anything to fault. The app is a bit clunky and not intuitive but it works. I've also integrated it into our Google Home so anyone on our Google home can view the camera on their own device. It even pops up on the TV, we have Google TV.

Excellent "set and forget" solar camera, despite typical notification delays.
This is a solid outdoor camera for the price, mainly because the solar charging actually works reliably. While the audio and notification speeds aren't perfect, the image quality and battery life make it a winner for my setup. Pros: Solar charging is genuine: I mounted this on the front corner of the house. For most of the year, it stays near 100%. Even now in winter with the sun lower and shorter days, the charge is only slowly dropping... it has enough buffer to easily last until summer without a manual charge. Dual Camera Logic: The 3K wide angle is crisp. The zoom lens is handy to have for checking details, though I’ve found the quality does drop off noticeably once you start zooming in. Strong Infra-Red Performance: I strictly use the standard IR black-and-white night vision rather than the spotlight "Colour Night Vision." The image remains clear and sharp without drawing attention to the camera. Cons: Notification Lag: This is a recurring theme I have with my Eufy products. Even connected to the HomeBase, there is a consistent 10-15 second delay before the notification hits my phone. Activity Zones are hit or miss: I have the detection set to "All Motion" to catch everything, but the defined activity zones are inconsistent. I frequently get alerts for motion well outside the drawn lines. Audio Quality: The two-way audio is functional but not the clearest; it can sound a bit muffled. My Experience: I bought the S340 to monitor passing foot traffic and our driveway, adding it to my existing ecosystem of Eufy cameras and the HomeBase. Installation was straightforward, and the tracking performs well, picking up subjects even in low light. The standout feature for me is the solar panel. Unlike other "solar compatible" cameras I've used that still need a plug-in during winter, this unit's battery management is impressive. However, if you need instant alerts, you should be aware of the lag. By the time the notification pops up 15 seconds later, the delivery driver or passerby is often already gone. Also, regarding the "hit or miss" zones... since I use "All Motion," the camera seems to prioritise sensitivity over the strict boundaries I drew, so expect some false positives if you monitor a busy street. If you are already in the Eufy ecosystem and want a camera you don't have to climb a ladder to recharge, this is the one to get. It’s perfect for passive monitoring (recording events to watch later), but maybe less ideal if you need to talk to someone at your door instantly.

Best Solar - Battery Camera
This camera from eufy is absolutely immense! The camera quality is stunning at 3k resolution, with 2.4gHz wifi which seems as if it would be an issue but it is not. The sound quality is great, the ai tracking is mind-blowing as it is built into the camera and does not need a Homebase. The solar charging is very efficient with my camera charging in full sun from 9am to 3pm. With 6 hours of constant sun, I charged 1399 mAh which is very good since I won’t have to take it down ever (currently this is the UK winter). Only downsides of the camera is the brightness of the light and the adjustment of the solar panel on the top of the camera which may affect charging since I could have got a little more sunlight with being able to adjust it more. The notifications are great, best in any solocam range. It is not easy to take the camera down it would require a little time which is a good thing incase of a burglary. The functionality is great, easy and interesting. I would recommend this camera over any other battery camera or wired from Ring. I did replace the Ring Spotlight Cam Plus with this and it is 100 times better for an extra £10 (when on offer). If Anker/eufy do find a way to make the light brighter I would give this a 5 star. Update after 4 months of use: The camera hasn’t come down since it was up, it’s still staying around 100% and is charging a good amount each day. Since the camera performs so well, I have 2 minute clips with ai tracking so it eats into the battery even more (it actually doesn’t). I have generated around 28,000 mAh which is amazing since that’s around 5 charges for the camera? I have also brought another for my north facing garden, which still performs exactly the same as the south.

Fantastic Security Camera!
Wow! Ive had 2 Eufy cameras for over 2 years and they're great. We had an unsolicited visitor asking if we wanted to sell our car, he wasn't welcome and looked totally dodgy. This prompted me to cover our drive way with a new camera when it arrived i decided to place our current camera on the drive and install two of these bad boys! Absolutely worth £99 each, they have such a great field of vision abd are very reactive to movement. The video shows how good they are at night and during the day they are better. The solar panels keep the battery fully charged, it went up 20% in 2 days (in December) I cannot recommend these highly enough, they are fantastic.

Just a great product that does exactly what you want!
This is an excellent product that I would recommend to anyone looking for a security camera. Detection is very good over a wide angle and distance and the video stored is clear and sharp even at night . It can take black and white images at night without needing to use the built in light which saves on battery use. The built in solar panel works well to top up the battery even in low light in the winter . The app was simple to install and made it easy to set up. There are options to select which notifications to receive (any motion, human etc) and the app allows you to connect and review live like a doorbell camera or record and review later. There is a live microphone link so you can communicate in real time with a courier etc if needed but I haven’t tried that yet. The camera automatically tracks and swivels as someone walks up and past it or you can set preferred views that zoom in to specific areas you want to monitor. Built in storage seems sufficient to store recorded video but it can be linked to a hub device if you want to store more video for longer. All in all it just works really well. I will probably buy a second one to monitor the back of the house as well . No hesitation in recommending this.

Absolutely Brilliant
Absolutely brilliant that I purchased another one. Crisp and clear pictures, super easy to set up and has a useful light and alarm which can be activated remotely. No subscriptions either. For £99, it's an incredible bit of kit that uses AI to track cars and visitors. Can recommend it highly enough.

Amazing quality picture. Great all rounder, but original connection was difficult.
I bought 2 of these to replace my ring cameras after I saw some reviews with comparisons and all I can say is, wow! The picture is almost crystal clear, can easily see number plates and peoples faces even at a distance! I was surprised to find it even has a spotlight! It is always constantly charged because of the solar panel too. I found it so funny at first how the camera moves to follow you and it always keeps you in the middle of the picture. No subscription fee and built in storage is also a massive plus! Even if the WiFi drops, we still get our recordings! It has lost a star though because connecting them to our WiFi was an issue, I had to download a previous version of the app to get it to connect but since then it's been flawless. Also, the picture at night is a bit blurry when the camera follows the person.
