The battery life is is truly short ! Truly a rip off

This only works correctly if it can connect to the internet through your wifi, because it's built to stream your video and all commands you send to the camera through a relay in China. (actually 6 different ones to which it reaches out about 8 times a second 24/7) As long as that connection is there, it will give your wifi password and any other security details to anyone who asks through that relay, and once they have that they can literally run commands on it inside your network (as well as more mundane things like watch and listen to your camera at will). This can be prevented by fully blocking all outside traffic to/from this device. Of course, then you can't change most of the settings and can only stream crappy video through an archaic interface if you do some research into how to talk to it by LAN, and can't reach it at all from outside your home unless you have set up a VPN tunnel. But it will still record to SD based on motion, and the camera is pretty solid, with excellent night vision which doesn't make the camera glow red at all, and atrociously short battery life. It has very bright LEDs on the front (they can be partially disabled as long as you keep letting it use internet to hack your network, but a yellow one for power connection ignores that setting, and the others will still light randomly, or all the time if it can't reach the internet server.) And it randomly doesn't work like it's supposed to, possibly because it's overheating, which is why half the instructions are to factory reset every time you want to connect to it. So, you know, mixed bag.

If you run this product without the charger is will not last long. 20 -30 min tops while on battery life.
