I have 5 golf hitting mats and this one is the 2nd or 3rd most realistic one of the bunch. For reference, the best is a $500 mat, so I would not consider that the competition for this mat. For $100, you can't go wrong here. It is cushy but not bouncy. It feels good on a normal shot, with turf interaction that I'd expect from a bent grass fairway. Fat shots do not jar your arms with vibrations and painful feedback. Chips come off as expected from a tight lie. It does move a little on hardwood, but that's easily remedied with some double-sided rug stays. This is right on par with other mats I've tested up to $170, and it's better than anything in a comparable $100 price range. 5'x4' is a great size and allows you to hit driver. Your feet will not be at the edge of the mat, especially if you use the pyramid tees that can be placed anywhere on a mat. If I have one quibble, it's with the tee hole placement and the fact that they set it up for the fat tees that come from underneath. I'd rather have no holes and use the pyramid tees, which maximize the hitting space. I don't use practice balls, so I can't comment on the ones they sent. The four alignment sticks are as expected and a great bonus. Even if you just bought driveway markers at Home Depot, that's a $20 value. They would be better if one end were sharpened to go into the ground more easily, but I have a few of those already so these can lay on the ground to check my setup alignment as opposed to trying to use them to shallow out my swing.
