Instinct Original Small Breed Grain Free Recipe with Real Chicken Natural Dry Dog Food, 4 lb. Bag

My rescue Yorkie was in this when I adopted her. Moved to Wellness Toy/Small breed for awhile and, when she seemed tired of this, back to this dry food. Both brands are quality. She did NOT like Blue Buffalo at all.

After getting a family dog to take care of I switched her from Beneful to this - and the difference has been dramatic. She "wolfs" the food - so I guess it tastes good (haven't tried it myself). But what I can personally attest to is the improvement in her energy, coat, and overall health since the switch. It took about a month to really notice the difference but it is unmistakable - the former owner (my mother) comments on it as though I'd cast a spell on the dog! My only complaint is that there seems to be some inconsistency in the kibble - the size varies sometimes, as does the texture. I am keeping a close eye on the quality to make sure it doesn't drop and will update my review if it does. For now, recommended.

I have 3 tiny Chihuahuas and they like this food and are very healthy and not overweight. They weigh between 4 and 8 lbs and between 3 to 9 years in ages. Makes a good all purpose food. I do supplement their diet with a stew type food twice a week to give them variety.

I’m going to be fair & open minded with my review and the issues we encountered.Our 5 yr old Toy Fox Terriers have been on Taste Of The Wild for years, I wanted to switch up their diet & give them some variety. After exhaustive research I settled on Instinct Raw Small Breed. First impression compared to TOTW it smelled really pungent , the dogs seemed to like it.The issue is that both dogs got horrible uncontrollable diarrhea and vomiting.After talking to the vet I pulled the Instinct and closely inspected the food. I only purchased a 4 pound bag so I dumped it out on the counter top. Some of the nuggets appeared to exhibit mold. I’m not sure if the food was bad or it was just too big of transition but we’re going to stay in the Taste Of The Wild family of flavors in the future.The Instinct bag was months away from expiration so I guess it was a fluke. The list of ingredients is impressive, that’s what attracted me but either it was a bad batch or too big of change for their digestive system.Again, I’m trying to be diplomatic & only subtracted one star.

I liked the fact that I never see negative nutrition reviews. I had never heard of the brand before, but highly recommend it. My dog, a chihuahua, is crazy about it!

It took us a while to find the right food for Mr. Taco and one we were comfortable with (ingredient wise). He used to pick food out of his bowl and hide it in corners of the house. Now he eat it all like a good boy.

Ingredient quality is important to me and we tried this brand from the recommendation of dogfoodadvisor.com website. Our Dachshund mix loves the flavor and the size better than the Wellness Core brand we were previously using.

This food was recommended by the breeder and my 3 yr. old teacup pomeranian is thriving on this food. Because she has to keep her weight down this brand is perfect...no fillers

Tengo un buldog francés y es muy exigente con su alimento, he cambiado de marcas y no había encontrado una que le agradará. Este alimento es muy bueno, le gustaron mucho a mi frenchi y seguiré comprando esta marca, me llego antes de tiempo y a menor precio que en otras tienda físicas. La croqueta es muy pequeña pero eso no afecta para ser consumida.

Mi perrita es super selectiva con sus croquetas y se aburre fácilmente, estas croquetas se las come muy bien y le han ayudado a su piel y sus articulaciones
