Takes about 4 hours or so to go from mostly empty to full with the type of battery included. **Q: Can I put a battery from the 36/40v max system in this impact driver?** A: NO... If you plan on doing this, call the fire department before you do ! **Q: Does this also work as non impact driver? For regular screwing and drilling?** A: I beg to differ with the other two respondents. theoretically, this should work as a drill with these caveats. 1) you'd need either a 'regular' chuck with a 1/4" hex back to lock into the impact driver to hold the drill bits, or buy drill bits designed for a 1/4" hex use. 2) if the material you are drilling into grabs the bit, as metals might do, the impact driver would start impacting and the drill bit might/could break.
