"Junque"
I was astonished at the poor quality of this item. Immediately upon unwrapping the package I noticed that it has that 1980s "RONCO" appearance, complete with faded and stained box, out of date photo, and emblazoned with "As seen on TV". Inside the package was a "songbook" which appeared to have been typed on an actual typewriter and copied on an antique Xerox machine showing which chords to strum while singing the titles, many of which were popular during the Civil War in the vein of "Hand Me Down My Walking Cane", "Ain't Gwine to Study War No More" and similar. For a device intended for the beginner player the explanation of which paddle presses which fin and the chord it is supposed to produce is more complicated than actually learning to play! Upon assembly I noticed first that it does not fit "any" guitar. Mine is a standard classical guitar made by Ibanez. The strings are too far apart for the fins on this product to press them correctly. The product is basically several plastic paddles with vertical fins below each which, when pressed, are intended to depress the guitar strings. As they are made of hard plastic these fins easily slip right off the strings. That's if you can manage to press them given that the product is so large that it is harder to get your fingers around it than it is to get into position on the strings themselves and given that the attachment scheme is unreliable and wobbles around on the neck. Finally, there are rubber lining strips which are supposed to protect the back of the neck and the face of the strings from the device itself. These fail to stay attached to the device. All in all this device has the look and feel of one of those disappointing things we used to buy through ads in the back of comic books (remember those X-Ray glasses?) and then weren't surprised when they arrived and we found they did not live up to the hype. However, those items were generally priced at 50 cents, not 25.00 I requested a return for refund and the seller offered a refund but did not want the product back.

Great for adaptative guitar.
I have used this product in several settings including private music therapy practice, for sequencing goals, and for getting individuals started on guitar. It allows immediate success. That being said, it could use some modifcations as there is currently only one product like this. It is plastic and can be easily broken. I hope that someone makes a sturdier version and separate versions for acoustic and classical guitar. Little pricey at $20.00 but worth it for being the only one on the market. It is worth it to make the guitar accessible to individuals at a variety of abilities and ages.

For Stargazer guitar
I bought this thinking it would fit my guitar from the description. It would not fit and the DVD was not in the package as advertised. I think it would have been OK if it had fit and the DVD would have been with it to instruct the person how to use it. I returned it and got reimbursed.

E-Z Chord is an interesting device.....
But the beginning guitarist soon discovers that E-Z Chord doesn't alleviate the inevitable sore finger tips common when learning chords. EZ Chord, if installed properly will allow simple camp fire back up for songs but it won't take the place of hard work and a little pain in learning to play guitar properly. Buzzing and dead strings are common in early guitar play and EZ Chord will eliminate this, but the user is limited to only four major cords which can be used to play many songs included in the mimeographed song sheet that comes with the device. Nice try by the inventors of several devices like this, but its best to struggle a bit with basic chords, notes and scales. You'll be a better musician for it.

DO NOT BUY!
This thing is terrible. I put it on my guitar and it took one time of trying it out for me to decide I didn't like it. It caused horrible fret hum which caused the plastic to rattle as well. I tried adjusting it and it still made the same noise. It was so bad you couldn't hear the guitar. It has been sitting in a drawer ever since and I have learned quite a few songs without it. The book that comes with it doesn't even tell you what cords you are playing either. It just says A, B, C and D. Horrible product. STAY AWAY!!
