essential access for taller rigs—just add Loctite!
The Context: Getting in and out of a taller camper can be a real struggle, especially if the factory steps aren't quite cutting it. I picked up these TOCRETOARE 4-Step RV Ladder with Handrail to improve accessibility for our older, taller rig, and they have been a fantastic solution—with one very important "pro-tip" for assembly. The Performance: Safety & Stability: The four-step design provides a much more natural, safer climb into a higher entry door compared to the standard, steeper folding steps. The included handrail is solid and adds an essential layer of security, especially for kids, pets, or anyone who needs a little extra help with balance. The Assembly "Pro-Tip": Here is the one thing you absolutely need to know: the vibrations of repeated use, travel, and stepping will cause the factory screws for the stair brackets to loosen over time. Before you even take your first trip, use some thread-locking compound (like Loctite) or a bit of glue on those screws. It takes two minutes to do and prevents the screws from shaking loose or falling out entirely. Versatility: Beyond just the camper, these are genuinely versatile. They are sturdy enough to work perfectly for hot tub access or even as portable porch stairs. Pros: Perfect Height: Provides a safe, comfortable entry for taller campers and trailers. Solid Handrail: Adds essential balance and security for every user. Highly Versatile: Great for spas, porches, or temporary access points. Cons: Vibration-Prone Fasteners: The brackets require a thread-locking compound to stay tight during long-term use. The Verdict: If you need a safer, more comfortable way to enter your camper, these steps are a great choice. They are stable, well-sized, and provide excellent peace of mind. Just take a few minutes to secure the fasteners before you head out, and you’ll have a rock-solid, reliable setup.

Couldn't be happier!
I couldn't be any happier with these two-step stairs! I purchased them for use with a cargo van I am converting into a camper. The box they came in was heavily damaged, but the stair parts were in excellent condition. They arrived with everything needed to assemble them, and assembly was easy. The instructions were mostly okay. I'm a bit of a handy grandma, so I was able to figure it out. It took a moment to figure out that the bottom step was a little different than the top step, which has two slots on each end to fit over the support bars. The bottom step has only one slot on each end at the front edge. Also, the instructions said to install the protective caps, which I couldn't find, then realized they were already installed. Once I got the steps together, I found them to be very sturdy and stable. When used properly, I don't expect any issues with the handrail not holding. It is not meant to be leaned on, only as an assist in going up and down. The steps are lightweight, so I had no problem carrying them out to the van after I put them together and I have no problem lifting them in and out of the van for travel. I love the wide step treads! While I am a handy grandma, I do have some knee issues and the nice, wide treads allow me to walk straight up and down, rather than having to side-step and my entire foot can be firmly planted, so no worries about slipping off, especially when going down the steps. I love this! I think my rather large dog will like the wider treads, too. The anti-slip tape that came with is another bonus! No worries about slipping on the smooth steps when it rains. And what's a camping trip without rain? Now, I'd like to comment on a couple of some people's "negative" reviews: First, like I said, the handrail should be sturdy enough used as intended. Hopefully, no one will fall against the handrail or lean over it but be realistic in your expectations! 2nd, use the tools that came with the steps to avoid overtightening and stripping them out and know your own strength. Perhaps the instructions should say, "Screws should be firmly tight. Avoid overtightening." That should be a no-brainer, but I'm sure there are some macho guys out there who insist on doing everything with power tools! If this is you, ask your grandma to put them together! I'm still building the camper, so I haven't used the steps at a campground yet, but they sure have been a help in getting in and out during my build, sometimes carrying some unwieldy things! Love those wide treads!

Good but not perfect
I bought the single handrail two step model. Positives: Steps are pretty sturdy due to a channel brace in the middle of each step running side to side. Weight is reasonable given the strength of the steps. I also like the depth of the steps. The anti slip tape is about 2" wide and allows for three pieces per step with some leftover. Negatives: The handrail is not high enough for use as with an RV. It is 8-10 inches too short. They might be OK for young children but not for an average adult. Now I need to figure out how to raise or replace the handrail. Without the anti slip tape the steps are slippery especially for pets. But the anti slip tape gets ripped by big dogs pretty easily. We ended up tying some old pieces of carpet over the taped steps.

Sturdy
We bought this to help us enter our fifth wheel we have parked at our lake lot. It was pretty easy for 2 senior citizens to put together. It makes the entry much easier on our knees. It is very sturdy. My husband screwed it into deck and it’s great. Love the wide steps. I feel much safer.

Nice sturdy steps
Great quality, instructions are very weak. More like here’s the picture, figure it out. Still easy to manage.

A solid product IF you can get it assembled.
The completed stairs are solid and reasonably priced--IF you can get them assembled. There were a number of issues that came close to preventing a successful conclusion: 1. As mentioned in several other reviews, the installation instructions are pretty bad. Incomplete, ambiguous, and printed in tiny format that is extremely hard to decipher even if you have decent eyesight. 2. Hardware: the hex bolts showed sloppy manufacturing and poor QA. Two of the bolts were defective, one with a malformed socket that was too shallow and rounded, and another that had a deformed head. Neither of these would accept the provided hex key. Another two of the long bolts were actually the wrong size and would not secure the parts they were supposed to secure. 3. The provided hex key was so poorly made that it stripped/rounded-out with only a little bit of pressure. Make sure you have a quality 4mm hex key on-hand before undertaking assembly. 4. All of the large and small bolts were just thrown loose into the parts box, making it hard to take inventory when starting the project. On a more positive note, the stairs and frame parts appear to be well-designed and manufactured. We're pleased with the assembled product, but getting it assembled may be a challenge for people who don't have a lot of experience putting things like this together, and who don't have a supply of tools and spare bolts to address the problems with the provided hardware.

Teacher
Bought these stairs to go on a back porch. Metal so they will last a long time. Not treated lumber as we had before. Very sturdy. Good quality and reasonable.

Poor seller
This product is fine however I do not recommend buying. The product arrived in broken packaging missing several pieces of hardware. It’s big and heavy and we were time constrained so decided to purchase missing pieces and request compensation. We spent $72.00 and had to make several trips to different stores which was very inconvenient. The seller’s response was to offer us $10.00 back. Do not buy from them!
