Bought December 2022 now October 2023. Here's my review
I got this back in December of 2022, so I've almost had it for a year now. I'm really happy with it. Ok, it can only clean where it can reach. I do have some places I have to clean myself (if I want to) because I don't have enough space between the wall and it for the vacuum to go in, but that's my fault for placing things in the way. As for the places it can reach, it's amazing! My floors are always clean and I'm not stressing about people eating away from the table and about bugs because of others being messy. I have mostly wood floors with an area rug and a few rugs in a bathroom and in my room. For the area rug in the living room, that's a real rug, so it has no issues going over it and vacuums just fine. It switches to vacuum only mode and doesn't wet my carpet. I do have to empty the dust bin once in a while (whenever I remember...) but that's OK. My bathroom rugs are a different story. They're light and they bunch up when the bathroom door opens, and sometimes the vacuum can go over them no issues and sometimes it gets stuck. That's the rug issue mainly, so I just move the rug out of the way now. My nephews are AWFUL about cables and keep leaving their headphone cables on the floor. I come back to find the vacuum stopped because it got tangled up in those. It can avoid some things, but not always cables, so I've gotten in the habit of blocking the path to the area where they always have cables lying around and haven't had those issues. I have replaced the mopping pads once since they started to get shredded. With my use case, I think I can last 6ish months on the pads, but I was mopping daily. Now I've cut back to like twice a week for mopping, so I'll have to see how long the pads last with that. Twice a week may be overkill, especially since I'm vacuuming when I'm not vacuuming and mopping but I like walking bare foot and I hate stepping on things, so that's how often I make it clean. I'm not doing it myself, so why not? I do have to remember to open my room door when I hear it coming by or it'll skip me, but I'm ok with a few skips since I'm not making messes like the family members, plus since it mapped my home and I told it what each room is, I can just send it to mop or vacuum or do both in my room or the kitchen or whatever whenever I want to...and I do! Setting this up was so easy. I put the pieces together and it went around scanning my house. It didn't go around each corner, it just went in the rooms and scanned. I was amazed at how fast the whole house was mapped. Coming from the Roomba i3, this was amazing. Things I wish it had are the self emptying of the vacuum. I could have gotten another robot vacuum (DreameBot L10S Ultra) that had the same oscillating mop pads but also had the dust bin self emptying feature, but I saw the places it could have issues and decided against it. The dreamebot fills up a reservoir in the actual robot with water that wets the mop pads and people were talking about having to use a straw to suck out a clog to get it working??? I kept up with their progress and some had issues later down the line, some not. I decided not to take that risk just to have an auto empty bin,, especially since I dont have pets. The Narwal Freo on the other hand has the water go down into the base, the robot cleans the mopping pads and uses the wet mop pads to clean the floor. It comes back when the pads need more water (I can do by room or by a certain square footage) As I have wood floors, i don't want the floors sopping wet. I've walked behind the vacuum and it didn't leave it too wet for my wood floors. I like that I can tell it which room to do in what order and it does it exactly as I say. The app tells me where the robot is IN REAL TIME so if I need to know where it is, I just look at the map and I can find it. They finally have the Automatic Drainage System. I did want to get it on amazon, but they don't have it, so I just ordered it from their website as it's on sale. As it is right now, I only have to empty the dirty water and fill up the clean water once a week. The dirty water tank gets smelly if I leave it too long, so I do clean it out as well. You can't smell it until you're emptying the tanks. With the emptying system, I'm not going to have to deal with that any more. Man I'm looking lazy right now... I'm not, I swear... haha The robot is going strong and working for me. I make adjustments to not leave cables on the floor and to pick up small toys so they don't get caught in the vacuum. My Coredy is making weird noises in the bristle spinning area and I've used the Narwal much longer without that issue. My Roomb i3 has the self emptying bin, but I can't say how many times it hasn't been able to finish a job because of some random error and not having anything stuck in it or having dirty sensors. Now, don't get me wrong, it works still, but I've put it to clean my basement now since I got tired of seeing it and hearing it go over the vents so loudly. My Narwal freo is so quiet that I usually don't know it's running. My sister was here one night and she almost jumped out of her skin because it snuck up on her. It's not silent, but it's quiet. It moves and makes some noise, but it's quiet. Makes the least amount of noise of all my vacuums. I turned off the stair sensor in settings so it can climb over carpets. The wheels raise up and it just goes, haha. I just make sure not to leave my outside and garage doors open when it's running. Those are only open when we have parties anyway. I am glad I took the big leap of faith and got this. Now it's on sale for less than I got it on Black Friday last year, but the headaches avoided by having it earlier more than make up for me missing out on saving. I would have blown a fuse with the mess my family makes and didn't clean up without this thing. The cleaning solution is a bit on the pricy side, but my floors are clean. Overall, I'm really really happy with this even nearly a year later. I'm glad I didn't get the DreameBot L10S Ultra, especially now that I'm not going to have to change any water. Update: 11/21/2024 I've had the water exchange system for a while now, and it's so great not having to change the water out! I tapped into the drain pipe in my laundry room sink. It gives a max height the drain can be, and I decided to just go with that. Got some epoxy and drilled a hole, stuck the tube in and sealed it up. So far, I haven't had issues. The clean water...I had to go to home depot for an adapter as my pipes used smaller connectors. I found one and it worked out for me. I can hear whenever it's getting clean water and draining the dirty water when it washes the mops. It's not super loud, but it's audible. Now I only have to clean the mop cleaning agitation tray once in a while and dump out the dirt from the vacuum bin. Do make sure to clean that as it can and will get clogged and start to leak. I found that out after not cleaning it for over a year...yuck. But now I'm better at checking it and cleaning it. It's easy anyway, just take it out and give it a clean then put it back together and back in. The dirt in there can be whatever the mop comes across that's too big to suck up I'm assuming. It takes a while to get dirty, but it does. I'm still not great about checking it regularly, but if you see water on the floor, you have a clog in the tray and it needs a clean. I haven't had the tube get clogged yet. It has a filter and a lot of stops before any particles get dragged up into the tube. It has been a set it and forget it type of robot that I sometimes forget to empty the bin or clean the tray. I am still in love with it.

Works great if you prepare your house or apartment
Hi, just been reading some other reviews on Amazon and on other websites, and I don’t understand some people complaining about this robot. I live with my wife my 19yr son and two short hair cats and one long haired chihuahua in a four and a half apartment. I don’t expect any robot at any price point to be able to be perfect. I also have a iRobot j9+ self emptying vac that CAN move around objects but I still pick up all the cat toys and dog toys, I pick up anything I can to make the robot work at its best. If people think they can just leave anything and everything on the ground, well they are wrong. The Narwal works great if you just take 10 minutes to tidy up your place. I live in an apartment that has 5 rooms, just average size nothing huge at all. One has laminate floor, one has wood herringbone floor, the bathroom has linoleum on the floor and the two bedrooms have 3inch wood planks. In the hall that connects all these rooms is covered in the usual landlord approved grey industrial carpet. The Narwal is better at mapping with the laser lidar, it’s smoother going around the apartment, quieter, does NOT bang into anything, it slows up just before and kisses the wall and turns around and keeps on going. My iRobot j9+ has a little better suction but is louder and really bangs into into stuff. I also make sure that I keep the robots in good working order. Every third or fourth run I empty the dust bins on both, wipe down the robots with just a slightly moist micro fibre cloth. I take out the rollers and pull the hair off the ends and and wipe down the sensors, lastly I blow them clean with a rechargeable air gun. I get the Narwal to vacuum first then mop the floors in all my rooms. Then I take out the dirty water container to see how dirty the water is, and I did not think my floors were that dirty. I run the iRobot every second day on just the carpet, and the dust bin is full of cat and dog hair and grey dust, it’s crazy. So please don’t think you can just set them up and forget about them. I hope this helps and makes sense, all these robots are good, you just have to do some upkeep. Thanks

Disappointing Performance and Design Flaws
I recently purchased the Narwal robot vacuum with high hopes for a convenient and efficient cleaning solution, but unfortunately, my experience has left me thoroughly dissatisfied. Here's a breakdown of my disappointments: 1. Inadequate Suction: The vacuum's suction power falls far short of expectations. It struggles to pick up dirt effectively, leaving me with the constant feeling that my floors are not as clean as they should be. 2. Sluggish Operation: One of the most frustrating aspects of the Narwal robot vacuum is its slow cleaning process. It takes an exorbitant amount of time to navigate through the entire house, making the cleaning cycle inconveniently long. 3. Unreliable App Functionality: The accompanying app is another letdown. The robot frequently forgets the layout of the rooms, making it unreliable when it comes to executing the tasks I've programmed. Additionally, it often fails to return to its charging station as intended, creating unnecessary inconvenience. 4. Brush Design Flaw: The spinning brush, instead of aiding in the cleaning process, seems to exacerbate the problem. It has a tendency to flick dirt away, rendering the vacuum's suction less effective. This flaw in design significantly hampers the overall cleaning performance. I find myself constantly frustrated with its performance, and it falls short of the expectations set by other robotic vacuums on the market. I wish I had the option to return the Narwal robot vacuum - the numerous issues I've encountered make it a regrettable purchase. In conclusion, if you're considering a robot vacuum for your home, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere for a more reliable and effective option. The Narwal has left me disappointed on multiple fronts, and I cannot recommend it based on my experience.

Great mopping and great support
I bought this robot as I wanted the combo of vacuum and mopping. The best feature of the robot is definitely the mopping which works great. The support team was very helpful - I have a 3 story house and could not figure out how to do it via the app. They sent me an email with very detail explanation and images and now I can map it property. Here are my pros and cons: Pros: 1. The mop is by far the best in market - I have both hardwood and tiles and it works well on both. 2. Very quiet - I can actually work from home and it won’t be noticeable on my meetings 3. The new addition of multi mapping allow you now to have the robot clean your entire house without moving the base. It took me some time to learn it for mopping - you need to define an area before starting the mopping - Reason is that it require to clean the pads after certain amount of time. Once I learned it - it’s quite easy - luckily my house is small. 4. Support team - They were able to answer my issue with the mapping very quickly and with all the detailed images. Cons: mostly small issues and can be easily be fixed with another firmware update. 1. App requires some improvement in my opinion - it was not clear on the instructions on how to create multi maps and only with the help of support I managed to find it. Also it was not clear the way of changing the dedicate area 2. Robot failed to bypass small obstacles - for instance I have a coffee table with base legs which are only 1 inch tall and the robot just like to play there and hover it all the time . I believe that with a small update on the sensors this can be easily fix .

Not worth the money
Worked great for the first year now I get nothing but malfunction it cleans and mops my floor, but leaves a puddle every time it does a cleaning. It doesn’t suck up all the dirty water. I contacted their customer service sent over the machine for repair. They sent it back in five days telling me it was fixed and continued to do the same thing. Not happy at all especially when you’re paying over $1000 for a machine that barely lasts one year
