The best I have found
They are rather pricey( but isnβt everything right now) , but last for years. Bought many over the years and recommend to family and friends.

Disappointed in the end.
Bought two of these single sized mattress protectors six mo this ago when I bought my children new mattresses. Last time they were tested for the first time when one of my children vomited in bed.Unfortunately the wet seeped through. I'm really disappointed, I was pleased with the comfort and softness of the protectors until this point. They don't rustle, they don't feel hot and sweaty, but ultimately if they don't keep the wet off the mattress they're a 2xΒ£40 expensive mistake.

Awesome product - I have so many of these as all beds need them!
I first found Hippychick bed protection 16 years ago when I had my first baby. I have cot sizes (useful as soft waterproof mats for years afterwards) and multiple singles and doubles as all beds in my house have both their fitted mattress protector and the flat sheet mat as reviewed here. Soft enough to use on top if wetting is anticipated.

The best fitted sheet I've tried
In terms of materials, Hippychick's fitted sheets are fantastic (we own two now). The top material is soft and comfortable and it doesn't rustle unpleasantly like some of the others we've tried. Ours have been tested to extremes and I can also vouch for their water-proof qualities. The only area where I feel this product could be improved on (and hence the 4 stars not 5) is the width. In this regard I believe the manufacturers could be slightly more generous and give a couple of centimetres extra on each side to make this sheet a really good fit. What I've found is that fitting it onto a standard mattress, it doesn't quite go over the edges, and can easily be shifted one way or another because the flat bit on the top is exactly 190cm so it won't cover the ridges on the edge of the mattress. And of course if there are accidents in the night, it's nice to have the extra security of a little overlap as Sod's law dictates that's where the dampness is going to get through otherwise! That aside, I'd strongly recommend these to all parents, and I'd also say that if you're a new parent, it's definitely worth paying the extra and buying a single-bed size right from the start. The extra material folds easily under a cot mattress and it will definitely last through to your child moving on to a bed when you might start to wish that you had two of them!

Hippychick waterproof protector
I bought this for my 3rd baby to start transition from crib as I read some good things about it. I am generally happy about its texture but since the baby is out of his sleeping bag he sweats a lot, every night his back is wet, no matter if the room is colder or baby is covered with a thin blanket so it's not worth the money in my opinion. For his older brothers I had ones from silentnight and are much better. Also there was some wet wipes at the end of the bed out of the pack and in the morning the mattress cover was wet so I doubt its waterproofing.

Great bed protector
These are great bed protectors. The single size I use for my children are fab. They do not roll up and move like other bed protectors. They wash at 60* and can tumble dry. They do shrink a little but still absorb brilliantly. I have also cut one for wheelchair seating and a pillow/dribble mat which still absorbs. π

total peace of mind
I am currently potty training my daughter in the day, however she keeps taking her sleep time nappy off. After trying everything from sewing up her baby grows to putting them on backwards, she is too wise and can still escape and remove her nappy. Now with the really hot weather we are having, she doesnt want to be wearing much to sleep, so the 'Houdini Suit' is no longer an option. These sheets mean that if she does insist on removing her nappy, I know her mattress will be fully protected, it is the compromise I have had to make, until this phase passes.I have just purchased her a new mattress and didn't want to ruin it, like her previous mattress, so also bought two of these mattress protectors. They have fully protected her bed each time she has decided to go au natural, and I really couldn't rate them enough. They feel soft like brushed cotton, and could be used as the actual fitted sheet, I however still put a further fitted sheet on top. I would recommend having two in stock, one on and one in the wash, to ensure full protection during this training period.Great product and definitely worth the money, and as close to a regular sheet as possible with full waterproof benefits.
