had a nightmare of a time with my 2000 Jeep Cherokee and finding the correct exhaust system. seems they changed things in January of 2000 so anything before 1/20/2000 was made one way, anything after took a different style - and then there was either the California emissions or the federal emissions systems versions of each. turns out the previous owner didnt know which one to use - so he created a rather a frankenstein-like combination of them. i was able to piece together a working exhaust sytem and this tail pipe was the easiest part to install, by far. i was able to put it right on, no fabrication or adjustment needed. plus the shipping was fast and the price was great! i am very happy with it. my XJ is breathing better and sounding better than ever thanks in part to this. so 5 stars!

Fits absolutely perfect in all mounting locations for a 1998 XJ sport with the 4.0L. Very nice quality at a super affordable price. Perfect!

Fit my 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ perfectly except the rear hanger mount didn’t line up. Not a big deal as I cut off my old one and welded it to this one. My biggest fear is longevity as the metal is very thin, thinner than I would have expected and liked. I guess that’s why it was so inexpensive so I got what I paid for.

I had a diesel swapped cherokee & wasn't wanting to spend $300+ for a custom routed exhaust at a shop. So using all pre bent setups + this walker tailpipe. It fit & looks wonderfully. On a 1997+ you do need to remove the far back hangar. At least i did since it didn't have the factory bracket.

I was in need of a new exhaust for my 2000 Jeep Cherokee Classic since the original broke right at the cat. I got a quote of $315 at a local muffler shop and walked right out. Figure I would check if Amazon had something that I can get quickly. I originally wanted to order the a full Dynomax but it would not have arrived on time. I ended up piecing together a muffler, tailpipe, hanger, and clamps. The tailpipe shipped in a very large box unlike some of the other reviews where it was shipped with bubble wrap. The Walker 55188 tailpipe slipped right on the Walker 21357 Quiet-Flow Muffler. The rear hanger was the not the correct one for my vehicle so I ended up cutting it off and using Walker 36274. Drove it about 1000 miles and no issues. Update: about 26,000 - 27,000 miles snd no issues with.

Good pipe. Works, sounds better and afforded me the opportunity to find out my cat had blown to pieces clogging my exhaust pipe.

*Disclaimer* heavy modification required for 97-01 Jeep Xj's, STAY AWAY IF YOU DON'T HAVE A WELDER The pipe itself is the right size/shape, but I had to cut off the rear hanger and extended the front hanger by 2.5". Took about 4 hours to figure out what needed to be done and run to the parts store to get another bracket to weld to the oem rear hanger and clamp around the tailpipe.

Fit perfect just had to cut off the rear hanger as it's different on the 97+ xj's

To clear up some confusion, a 97 XJ uses the rear hanger which is not needed for later model XJs. Perfect fit, Both hangers. Fit easily into the Walker Sound FX muffler sold on amazon. I picked that up for 52 at Car Quest though. Why must they put the paper sticker on the metal though? So dumb.
