K+M 50% Golden Milk 3 Pack

I originally tried this chocolate because it supposedly has more antioxidants than bars that use traditional cocoa butter, but I found that it has a great flavor and texture. Maybe it's because olive oil's more fluid than cocoa butter, but it was really smooth and creamy. It had a strong chocolat cake flavor, though not overpowering, and slight notes of fruit. I highly recommend trying this, even without considering the additional antioxidants. Personally, I think it'd make a great gift, as long as the recipient appreciates high-quality chocolate. It's pretty close to being one of my favorite bars now, and compares favorably with other 15- to 20-dollar chocolate bars I've tried.

Yes, this seems to be an absurdly expensive chocolate bar. But the flavor and texture is unlike any other, and it's way better. It's silky smooth, with a tiny hint of olive that you would not identify as that unless you already knew what it was. This bar is for special occasions only. If you are a chocoholic like me, maybe work it in once a month or so. Be careful -- it could be habit forming.

Expensive but worth it

I purchased the chocolate for a friends birthday. She is a chocolate lover! I assumed because it was one of Oprah’s Favorite Things, and made by Thomas Keller it would be worth $15 a bar. Wrong.It does have beautiful texture due to the olive oil base, but it is SO bitter, not bittersweet that it’s not enjoyable on its own. Like taking a teaspoon of cocoa powder in your mouth. I’m really surprised Oprah loved this.

Quality ingredients, great taste, and 75% cocoa. It’s expensive and requires lots of rationalization but worth as a splurge. For those who think it’s too bitter I would recommend Hershey’s milk chocolate.
