I have a breville 920xl. i just received the screen and it fits in the portafilter but then i cannot move it to lock it in place. thoughts/advice?

Sounds like you are too full in the basket, the puck screen might be hitting the shower head, if you have a bigger basket try that with your current dose otherwise you may have to reduce your dose of coffee to allow the puck room to clear the brew head screen.

What am I doing wrong? The extraction is slower and coffee is thin with no crema. perfect w/o the screen

If your screen is fairly new, then increase the coffee dose. I actually reduced my dose by 3.5 grams when I started using the screen, so that's probably not the soltion. If the screen is older than 6 months, it may be clogged, and need to be replaced. Blow against the screen to see if air easily passes through it. A clogged filter will require a very long shot-time. I've seen 50-60 seconds. The resulting shot was on the weak side.

Well, it smells of coffee once it’s used, but it is quite easy to clean. Given that it is made of solid metal mesh, it has no particular smell.

Great replacement puck screen for Flair Pro 2

If you're looking for a replacement puck screen for a Flair Pro 2 45.5 is your size. Seems well made and I haven't had any issues. Would I get this as an upgrade to the included puck screen? No... too many people are spending too much (myself included) chasing any minute upgrade which is most likely imperceptible. Get a grip guys, the more you own, the more space you need, the more you spend to just live.

Seems to even out shot pulls better than stock screen

Good upgrade over the stock screen, but you most likely will have to invest in a ultrasonic cleaner to run this thing through from time to time.
