Explore the world of biology in this Cells Activity Kit. New from ScienceWiz! Featuring a forty-page science book and kit, kids will learn the fundamentals of staining onion cells, preparing a leaf cell, staining and viewing cheeks cells, identifying parts of the cell, and so much more! This kit includes a breakthrough clip-on microscope that lets you observe on a digital screen as you prepare a microscope slide step-by-step on the microscope stand. Step-by-step instructions lead a child successfully through each activity. The full color illustrations present central scientific concepts which allow children to discover the "why" as well as the "how" of these great projects. Extend and enrich the fun and learning by utilizing the videos, animations and word play that compliment the book on the ScienceWiz website. The award winning ScienceWiz line got its start in 1995 when we released our first title ScienceWiz Electricity. Our line of science kits stemmed from Dr. Penny Norman's volunteer work teaching science in her children's elementary schools and her ScienceWiz after school programs and summer camps. With initial development supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and the Franklin Foundation, each of our kits is created with the goal of teaching fundamental scientific concepts to children through hands-on play. From our offices in Richmond, CA we work hard towards our goal of providing children a basic foundation in science. Each new title we release is focused on a distinct topic. With so many disciplines in science, our work may never be finished. Along the way, we hope to inspire young minds to love learning as much as we do.

Not worth a penny
I bought this for my son... the light doesn’t work and there is no way to open it and change the battery or the light. When making the slides nothing happen. I put a leaf and you can see it as you see it under any magnifying glass.... I would give it zero star if I could’ve

attractive garbage.
We bought two of these Science Wiz kits, and both were poor quality. In the case of the cell phone microscope, the light source does not work, and there is no way to replace the bulb or battery. To add frustration, the customer service form on the manufacturer's website does not work!

Piece of junk
What an absolute piece of junk. I bought this for my almost-8-year-old grandson. I tried it out first to be sure he didn't get frustrated with too much detail. I never saw a single thing under the "microscope." Making the slide was a nightmare. You make your own saline (using approximate measurements because what is a simple measurement of 166 ml?) and add food coloring. You drop it on the onion skin (as thin as they insist it must be) and it NEVER absorbs. You give up and put the thin piece of tissue over it and then try to put it under the microscope. As soon as you try to slide it under the clips the tissue paper crumples, moves, tears. After nearly two hours of trying to mount a slide and look at it, I simply gave up. Horrible thing.

Really neat working high powered microscope
This is such a neat toy. Has lots of information about cells for kids and lots of experiments to try. Worked right out of the box. Because it uses your camera app east to take pictures of what you see.
