Bison20-03-121202 Pickaroon Log Handling Tool - 80 cm

Pickaroon or sappie, this is a great addition to my firewood handling equipment. I have a lot of wood in various sizes/locations, so I have chainsaws, grenades, hatchets, mauls, hydraulic splitter etc. This is ideal for pulling / manouevring large logs and scones. Time will tell how robust it is, but so far its been easily up to the job.Note - I also have the small Fiskars sappie; it is ideal for 'close up' work, handling logs on the chopping block or hydraulic splitter. I think if I had to choose one or the other it would have to be the Fiskar one, simply because more time is spent with the smaller stuff and the length of the pickaroon can be awkward in those situations.

I wish I'd had one of these years ago. Works extremely well for trunks, logs and split logs of any weight and increases productivity by saving back strain. I went for the 800mm handle (I'm 6' 2") and this was the right choice for me - I can do so much more without having to bend down.This is excellent value for money and is highly recommended to help you get the job done in one go.

This pickaroon is a handy tool for picking up firewood for splitting. When I first started to use it I was disappointed as it wouldn't pick up hardwood, nearly seasoned. Understandably it is best in freshly cut wood. However I sharpened the point with a few strokes of a file and it worked well. Nevertheless it wouldn't pick up every log even with a few sharp stabs. Wouldn't use it for smaller diameter than 50 mm. Would I recommend it ? Absolutely. Anything that saves your back is worth it. Has a nice long handle. Lighter than expected but then it needs to be for extended use. Can also be used for retrieving logs not accessible by hand.

I thought about buying this for quite a while.Having cut my own firewood for 20 odd years i thought i'd managed all that time without one.I now wish i had one 20 years ago.Absolutely brilliant piece of kit.Saves my back so much work and is 50% quicker moving logs about.Once you get used to using it and how it works it becomes an extension to your arm.100% impressed with what looks to be a simple tool.

On theses pickaroon log handling tools the ends keeps breaking and no good to anyone that cant move timber about with them to a log splitter

great quality, german nice heft and balance you pick it up and you just know you have a great tool ready to do the job, bought this after using a friends to haul reasonable sized logs over grass made it easy,finish is excellennt all round great price and quality recommended highly

I was initially very impressed, especially given its price. But like some of the photos on other reviews, the handle snapped within the first couple of hours use.

This is one of the most handy tools I own for firewood processing. It's a God send if you've ever had back problems. No more bending down. When you get the hang of it you can stack your split wood with it too.

Habe das Teil als Geschenk bestellt. Hat inzwischen viel, viel Feuerholz bewegen müssen und hält immer noch.

Ottimo Sappie per raccogliere tronchi. Volevo da tempo un attrezzo del genere è per fortuna sono riuscito a trovare questo ottimo sappie ad un prezzo più che conveniente. Utilissimo per raccogliere la legna (tronchi più o meno grandi) Utilissimo anche per girare alberi o tronchi abbattuti. La punta da uncino si infila bene nel lego e con un po’ di dimestichezza si lascia affilare anche agevolmente. La parte posteriore la si può usare per battere i ganci delle catene sui tronchi oppure per battere i cunei quando si tagliano gli alberi.La versione più piccola è anche comoda ma io personalmente preferisco la sappia con il manico lungo, ma quello dipende dal modo di lavorare.Consiglio questo prodotto a coloro che sono interessati grazie anche ad un prezzo a mio avviso vantaggiosissimo dato che le altre marche sono il doppio ed il triplo più care.Consegna veloce, imballo perfetto e molto accurato.ConsigliatissimoSalutiChristian
