Bought to use as a pail for cloth diapers. The lid opens and closes smoothly and keeps the smells contained. I can fit a cloth bag easily over the inner can liner, and it’s easy to take out and change. The slim footprint of this ca is why I bought it (I had a small space next to the changing table it needed to fit in) and it fits perfectly and looks nice but is unobtrusive. I wish it came in a size a bit taller, but overall it’s pretty good.

Well, this is a fabulous trash can. It’s perfect for a very narrow place in our kitchen bin area. The smudgeproofness works great and the pedal workings have a smooth and solid feel. I always liked simplehuman designs but hate the wildly expensive cost. Yet, they’re the ONLY brand we could find that made a tall, narrow can less than 9 inches wide. Even ikea failed us. Love the butterfly top and the clean look and function. Now to find eco bags that work with its 24”x18” bag size.

This is the best space saving trash can. I love the hands-free opening. It's the perfect size. The double lid doesn't open high, but it opens the width of the can, so it works perfectly under a counter extension. And also holds way, way more than I expected it to! I live in an RV and I couldn't ask for anything better than this space saving trash can! It's just perfect. It would also be perfect in a normal size home, or anywhere else.

I am pleased with this little garbage can. The stainless steel finish is well done. It is easy to wipe clean. And the height and the butterfly opening allows it to be operated without blocking my cabinet drawers.

This is a quality trash can. I was using a cheap trash can before, and this one feels like luxury in comparison. The pedal feels premium, and the lid closes softly. It keeps the garbage smell inside, so no need to worry about that. The inner bin is easy to take out to change the trash bag, and for cleaning. I appreciate that they left a little space toward the back part between the inner bin and outside so I could easily take out the bin by pulling it out with my finger in the space. It does move, however. The rubber bottom is grippier than other trash cans I’ve used but it does move over time. It is kind of annoying that I have to adjust the position of the trash can every few days, but it is still a nice trash can. I also appreciate that they have a 10 year warranty. I have not tried to get anything done with it yet so I am not sure of the process or how much they honor it, but it is nice to think that my $100 at least may cover any future issues for many years.

…even though I was cringing at the $99.99 price tag, I am truly glad that I ordered SimpleHuman’s 18L (4.8 gallon) Butterfly Lid Kitchen Step Can! It was delivered a day earlier than anticipated, and I appreciate the care that went into cushioning and packaging the product; it didn’t have a single dent or ding in it. It’s highly attractive and functions just as described. Everything operates SMOOTHLY, no need to step hard on the sturdy steel step pedal to open the Butterfly lid, and the lid, just as described, closes quietly, too. Since we have a very tiny kitchen, we needed something close to the kitchen sink that also didn’t have a big footprint, and the size of the trash can is perfect. Since it’s just two of us and our dishwasher is never used, I positioned it in front of it, and it’s proving to be very convenient for us in that location, not at all in the way. 😊 Before I forget, I should mention that I wanted a trash can where the trash liner didn’t show, and indeed when I fitted one of the 10 free trial trash liners on the removable inner bucket (easy to do) and put it back in, the lid nicely covered everything nicely (after calculating the cost per bag, I will be ordering the custom-fitted trash liners as well). My husband is impressed with it as well (yay!). I’M GIVING IT 5 STARS AND HOPE (fingers crossed) THAT IT CONTINUES TO FUNCTION WELL FOR US FOR A LONG, LONG TIME TO COME!

Simple Human makes quality products. Very sturdy. Comes in so many sizes! I needed a very narrow one for my laundry room and this did the trick. Have bought many cans from this brand, cant go wrong. Pricey? Yep but well worth it. Very sturdy. Had my last one for 15 years!

Perfect can to fit under counter and still open. I needed a kitchen can that was attractive and would open with clearance. I balked at paying so much for a trash can but I consider it furniture because it is in the open. Have had several months and works like a charm. I have a friend who has had a simple human can for years and its lid mechanism still works great. The bags that go with it fit better but you can make regular bags work too. You just have to find what works for you or splurge on the can liners that go with it. This is small can for kitchen but I live alone and recycle so this suits my needs perfectly

El contenedor de basura es elegante, práctico, se ve de calidad! Super útil para espacios reducidos donde poner un bote es además de útil, hasta decorativo. Y su sistema de cierre de la tapa, genial, no se azota y cierra poco a poco! Vale el precio pagado.
