Very Cool
The media could not be loaded. Ā Fascinating, fun, and absolutely captivating. Image quality is great, construction is solid, and style quite cute. There are bugs to work out with the software, but works well on the whole.I love the idea behind this feeder. I love looking at our local birds, though I have trouble attracting them to my yard. Those that do stop by arenāt around for too long, and I often miss my chance to observe them. This video-enabled feeder helps me maximize my chances of seeing something cool, and I love it for that. The design includes a number of features in support of that goal, and many of them work very well. The shape of the feeder brings birds right up to the camera, the clear seed compartment keeps them looking toward the lens, and the mounting system keeps everything secure. There are drain holes in the tray, preventing mold, and perch is more than sufficient. The solar panel is my favorite feature, of course - replacing a battery would be a real pain.Despite getting these things right, there are a few misses that hold this back a bit - mostly app-based. The app itself is decent, with a number of neat features. You get notifications for motion detected, birds detected, battery status, and other triggers. I wish these were more customizable, and more to the point, more timely. For some reason my āmovement detectedā notices seem to be delayed about 15 minutes, rendering the point mostly moot. Luckily, it records video when motion is detected, allowing me to review my near misses. Similarly, the bird identification is a great idea I havenāt been able to use - it only seems to work for live video, not recorded clips.Squirrels are a major problem for my situation - I have no way of keeping them off the feeder, and the included siren and microphone are ineffective. I got a couple birds the first day, but since then itās been dominated by furry gluttons. Iām working on a solution to that problem, but so far no luck. There are too many other features and options to discuss in a short review, but the short version is itās a mixed bag of hits and misses. In all, itās a pretty good piece of hardware that could use some squirrel-proofing and some software upgrades. Despite not being perfect, itās a really cool, very unique addition to your yard and makes an excellent gift.

High-tech bird feeder
Iāve owned/made many bird feeders, and this video one is highly unique. I watch birding videos on YouTube all the time, and now I can make my own to share. For this reason alone, Iām thrilled to have this feeder. Its solar function is sufficient to keep it running throughout the day. I didnāt enjoy downloading, installing, and setting up its app, but I donāt blame the manufacturer as most apps are cumbersome. The feeder does alert me when birds visit, and I enjoy watching the birds on my phone (although I could look out my window and watch them in person). The video recording abilities are the real selling point.I'm a little disappointed with the packaging. I'm fortunate my unit arrived in tact, but I don't have much faith in the generic compressed foam inserts. It would be better to have custom inserts so the birdhouse doesn't ever shift to touch the edges of the box. As it is, the packaging lessens the perceived value of this entertaining bird feeder, so while it's a good gift, it may not land a stunning first impression.

Bird feeder with good camera but don't expect solar charging to be enough
There is a lot I love about this bird feeder. It even comes with a built in microphone and Iāve tried making bird noises through it. Itās a bit embarrassing because the bird feeder is facing the street but definitely a cool feature, especially if you place the feeder in the backyard. We opted for the front yard because we have two lush oaks out front so birds are already in the area and have shade while they feed. Out backyard faces west and has no shade. Unfortunately, itās not an option. The camera quality is better than expected, especially during the day. At night the camera captures whatās immediately in front of it. The biggest downside is how long it takes to recharge the feeder via the solar panel. Itās a supplementary charge at best.

LOVING THIS!
I am a huge fan of my backyard birds. I love seeing them up close! The bird feeder is easy to put together. I love that the solar panel is attached. You can charge using a usb chargers as well if you prefer. If you place it in the sun, youāll never have to charge it!The device was a little tricky to install on the app but figured it out in a couple minutes. The instructions are adequate. The app is rich with features. Be sure to insert the flash drive included to take advantage of storing pictures in your gallery and play back. I thought it was particularly beneficial to have the flash drive included in this set.The feeder itās self is lovely. It stores a nice amount of seed. A huge advantage. Itās a little tough to get to the seedā¦you have to unscrew the latch. Thatās good to keep out other animals but keep the enclosed screwdriver by your seed to access the seed bin. Itās also easy to install on a tree or fence post. I prefer mine on a tall pole with a squirrel baffle away from trees. Those keeps the squirrels at bay (they have another feederā¦one without a nice camera). To do this I had to attachĆ© a 4x4x6 block of wood to a pool and then screw on the feeder attachment to the wood at the top of the pole. It works great! The camera itself takes amazing pictures of my backyard birds. The perch is extended out from the camera so you can get larger birds in the frame. This is an advantage over other feeders. I enjoy scrolling through my daily bird feeder history, saving frames to the gallery, downloading to my phone and posting on social media. Itās a great way to raise awareness of these beautiful creatures!I canāt recommend any more. In my opinion itās the best bird feeder camera option that Iāve come across. Itās worth every penny!
