Emotional Rollercoaster
This book was recommended to me by my daughter who is not a reader by any means, but we agreed to each get a copy and read it and compare thoughts. Well my daughter finished hers in 2 days and I finished mine in 17hrs. You can't put it down. It's an emotional rollercoaster & not at all what I was expecting. A must read!

Somewhere in The Sunset
Somewhere in the Sunset by Estelle MaskameRating: 3/5Tropes: Strangers to lovers, opposites attract, lessons in love.Somewhere in the Sunset follows the story of Gracie and Weston, both of whom find themselves spiralling after long term relationship break ups. We watch them navigate what it is to be independent and what it is to love themselves first before ever thinking of loving anyone else. The characters were so relatable and normal. So many times I watched them make decisions that I, as the layman, would have taken myself instead of the normal route that most romance writers believe their characters need to go.The hug scene in the beginning of the book *chefs kiss*. Her jumping into his bed and needing to be held *chefs kiss* The end… just a flat out disaster. This book was so good until the last 10%. I wanted to rate it higher, but the ending just fell so incredibly short and flat for me. I mean why? Can anyone just answer that for me? Why would you end a really good book like that? So much potential, but all we’re left with is a wham, bam, thank you ma’am. We’ve been left devastated by the author, and not in a good way.Unfortunately, I do not recommend this book and will not be looking at reading any of this authors further works.

Heartbreaking
Well. That ending hit me like a train out of nowhere. Was not expecting. I thought I was reading a spicy romance headed towards a happy ending 😅Grace and Weston meet after being left heartbroken by their exes. Being in the same boat, they find they can rely on each other and appreciate having a new friend who completely gets it. They feel an undeniable comfort with each other, which soon turns romantic and they realise they might have another shot at love. There’s lots to like about this and it is very readable, even bingeable. I like that it addresses the fact that they move on quickly and when they aren’t totally over their exes - that’s life! You can’t control when you’ll meet someone and shouldn’t have to deny feelings for them because you’re just out of a long term relationship, especially in your early twenties like these characters. The development of their relationship felt natural and realistic to be honest. The ending is so very bittersweet 💔 Especially with the narrative having focused so much on Weston’s fears as a police officer. What to expect:- moving on from heartbreak- kind of meet cute- friends to lovers- spicy- shock heartbreaking ending 💔

A wonderful but heartbreaking romance.
“Somewhere in the Sunset” centres around the characters of Gracie and Weston. Both facing their own heartbreak they meet on a disastrous night out at a nightclub. And are then continually thrown together by fate.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀They begin to become friends and are able to help one another through their heartbreak. But gradually their feelings change and remaining only friends becomes hard as they realise they can each heal more than just the other’s heartbreak.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I genuinely loved this book and devoured it in a day. I couldn’t put it down and it’s now all I can think about.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀It made me feel all the emotions. I smiled and laughed through parts and then full on sobbed in other sections.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Estelle Maskame’s writing is so engaging and she has written the most endearing and human characters. Weston is the most gorgeous MMC. A kind, generous, vulnerable, proud, caring puppy dog of a man who is just looking for the right woman to love. And Gracie is sweet, romantic and loveable but lacks in self-confidence and self-believe. They both feel directionless after being dumped by their significant others. Yet, they are perfect for each other and make the cutest couple.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀There are many scenes in this book that had me swooning. And hot locker room sauciness - yes, please - I would quite happily read more of that.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Such a fabulous romance book and one for you if you like to experience every emotion while reading.

Heartbreakingly Beautiful
This is my first Estelle Maskame read and can honestly say, what an ending? Was not expecting it to end like that. What a twist! The whole book was so beautifully written and I loved getting to know Gracie and Weston throughout the pages and the chemistry they shared, made you instantly fall in love with them. I absolutely loved this book and would highly recommend reading it if you haven’t already.Overall Somewhere In The Sunset is one of the most truly beautiful and heartbreaking story. But just to be warned, it will break your heart.

That ending though 😮
I'm not a massive reader of romance (despite just finishing an Emily Henry) but I was intrigued by the sound of this one, particularly as it's predominately in San Francisco, which is one of my favourite US cities. The characters are likeable and relatable and the relationship between Gracie and Weston felt realistic - two people who have lost the loves of their lives, who find each other. Gracie was sweet and I enjoyed watching her grow in confidence as the book progressed by mending her broken heart and taking control of her life. The sex scenes are spicy 🌶 (I won't look at a locker room the same way again...) I would have liked to have read even more of them. The novel for the most part is warm and wholesome but the ending completely blindsided me. I wasn't expecting it at all. I've seen mixed opinions about the ending and whilst I won't spoil it, although it shocked me, the impact actually elevated the book for me.If you're after an engrossing romance with spice then this is the book for you.

Want a sad romance? This is the book for you
I went in only knowing a little bit about this book. I loved this story and the build between the Gracie and Weston was a good pace for me. I was not a fan of Gracie's ex. I thought he was honestly a horrible character and at first I thought it was going to be a love triangle (which I hate) but it didn't turn out to be. Thank goodness.WARNING SPOILERThe ending was really sad, we got closure but I sobbed while reading the end and it will definitely stick with me for a good while. It was very well written.

GOooOOD
It was so sad that I could barely read what was in front of me. I get that some stories need a sad ending, but this one got on my nerves.
