I wanted to close off an area by the front door, which we almost never use, in order to have space for a litter box (thereby getting it out of my small bathroom). The area has bookshelves on one side, so that wall is inaccessible, and a tension gate wouldn't work. I also needed a wide gate, and I wanted a tall one as well so our younger dog wouldn't even consider trying to get over it. And of course, it needed to have a small door so the cats could get through to the box. This fit the bill. I was able to use one screw on the bookshelf side to secure it, which is enough for us as our dogs are not bulldozers. I used a zip tie to hold the little door open. I think if they either made that little door removable, or made it to slide up instead of opening sideways, it would be perfect. But this is working for us.

The media could not be loaded.  I bought the 24" tall gate like this previously and I loved it, but my puppy was jumping over it once she got arount 6 months old. This one is just tall enough that she can't jump high enough to get over. It's super easy to open and close and it's plenty sturdy for my 3 20-30 pound dogs. Love it!
