This is a very old name in the plumbing hardware business. Formed in 2010 by two men, Emil Price and William Pfister in Los Angeles, the company went from its first product, a garden faucet, to entire lines of medium priced faucets and valves. During WWII, the company made such products as shells for handgrenades.My own experience with Price Pfister was during the 1990's when I used some of their products in a construction project converting an old barn into residential and commercial spaces. Those fixtures ALL failed when cartridges in the faucets just broke after short use. I said NEVER AGAIN!Since that time much has changed with Price Pfister, especially the name and the corporate ownership. The name was changed just after the turn of the century to just plain Pfister and the ownership is a large, hardware holding company. I don't know if that has impacted the quality of the products Pfister sells, but in the case of the Capistrano tub/shower trim kit and valve, it certainlly appears so.This kit that I have for review is a beautifully finished brushed nickel. All the pieces...handle, escutcheon, shower head, etc, all appear to be of extremely high quality, certainly the equal in appearance to all the other similar manufacturers INcluding those VERY high end and expensively priced ones. I was impressed by how well finished even the brass casting of the valve assembly was.I would be pleased to install this in my bathroom and highly recommend the Pfister Capistrano single control tub shower kit. At the price point, it is really a GREAT value. Even better, it's warranteed by the company forever.....well, at least your lifetime.

This is an attractive tub/shower set from Pfister with a design complemented by solid build quality.All the main parts of the set are real metal, solid and heavy in the valve handle, tub filler and shower arm. The cover plates for the valve and shower arm are also real, though thin, metal. The shower head is plastic--common in faucet heads costing as much or more than this faucet does. Pfister's valves are ceramic and trustworthy. Moreover, Pfister provides a reliable lifetime-to-original-owner warranty from a company that has been around for years. Build and design are equal in my view to faucets costing substantially more from fancier name brands. By all means, if you like the design of this faucet, get it. It's a true bargain for the quality of the set.Pfister, once named Price-Pfister, is the fifth largest U.S. faucet manufacturer behind Delta, Moen, Kohler and American Standard. The company's faucets are similar in build quality to those of the other top U.S. manufacturers. Pfister's warranty is lifetime like other top manufacturers. Some reviews suggest Pfister has a less responsive customer service department than other manufacturers, but complaints have not been about failure to honor the warranty, but focused on outsourced customer service where the representatives don't know the product and thus aren't able to provide knowledgable help. Pfister has sent parts and replaced faucets, but getting there can be more of a hassle.This tub/shower set is almost unbaeatable for the price. The finish is quality--a warm brushed nickel. Comes with the rough-in valve, often an extra expense with other manufacturers. Pfister focuses on selling to homeowners and does an excellent job with packaging and including easy-to-follow instructions.Don't hesitate to get this tub/shower set. You'd spend twice as much for similar quality from other top manufacturers.

I got this for my bathroom where I previously had a delta shower head, wand, and valve. This is a much better set of bathroom faucets. They are beautiful, they perform exceptionally well, and they are made well. They are, in a word, perfect. 5 stars.

I have always been happy with Pfister products, but this particular set is really high end.I could tell as soon as I opened the box that this faucet was of excellent quality. The finish on every piece is perfect. The movement of the valve and handle, downspout shutoff, and shower head adjustment are all supper smooth.The tub downspout is nice and heavy and attaches with the modern O-ring / set screw system which allows you to connect it to most any length copper pipe extending from the valve. This eliminates the tedious process of making sure the pipe is exactly the right length. The push button mechanism to switch from the downspout to the shower head works smoothly and completely turns the water off at the downspout when engaged.The valve handle is heavy as well and threads onto the valve with an attached threaded housing. This design is far nicer than the ones that attach with either a screw behind a cap in the end or a set screw in the side. The connection is secure and there is little chance the handle will ever become lose. The twisting action of the handle within the housing makes it evident that it is well engineered.The shower head has 5 settings. It clicks into place at each setting and provides ample options and water flow.I also like that you do not have to purchase the valve and trim kit separately, as this kit includes all of those components.I guess one has to be a little nerdy to get excited about a shower faucet, but.... this thing is really nice.

I love this product so much. The product is so heavy so I believe the material, finishing and quality are good. it's pretty easy to install. The show head has multiple spray mode which I can enjoy it in different scenarios, especially after a long day work or a long driving or or long trip, the massage mode is my best choice. Water comes out from the shower head is strong enough, actually it doesn't consume a lots of water. The another highlight will be the reaction of cold/hot water is pretty fast when you adjust the valve handle.
