I first recommend you download all the necessary Zen suite software from Creative. Then plug it in and watch it go! The battery is long dead, but it still charged, still connected allowing me access to files from a friend who has passed away. It was like having them back for a little bit, looking at pics they had, songs, podcasts. Thank you!

I tried plugging it into a brick to charge, nothing. After 3 days, I switched to charge from the laptop, still nothing. No charging indicator lights, no power on. Nothing. so disappointing

Background: I had signed up for MusicMatch, which became YaHoo music to buy music in the very early 2000's. Both services went out of business; if you didn't burn your *.wma files to CD, you lost the music you'd purchased. Today: I found my Zen and the battery was dead. Curious as to what was on it I bought this cable. The cable allowed me to power my Zen via USB and drag all my unprotected *.mp3's off of it onto my hard drive, so that was cool. Powering my Zen also allowed me to play back all the protected *.wma files and record them using the headphone out (analog) to the line in on my PC. Yes, I had to edit the files and rename them, but I got back several gigs of music that I'd previously lost. If your in this rather unusual situation, this cable will solve the problem.

I have an old Creative Zen MP3 that is like old faithful. I've bought other, new MP3 brands that have stopped working after a few months compared to years of satisfaction with the Zen. Only problem was the original charger cord was at its end of life. I've had the replacement cord for a while and it works just fine.

It was exactly what I needed in order to change my Zen with. Right on time!! Thank you Amazon because I couldn't find the cord any place else.

I can connect to a USB wall charger or my desktop windows PC and it will charge the battery. However, Windows 10 does not detect it, so I can't sync to the Zen Vision: M.

It's not the original lead, it's missing the power plug socket. It connects to pc with no driver needed. It also recharges, so it does what it claims. A bit expensive for just a lead.
