Works
It's not the fanciest scanner but it can tell you if there are any issues going on. It's simple enough to use with no complicated buttons.

It works…
But I was looking for something better than I already have. Thought I’d be able to search code detail on the instrument. Still, I had to use the cellphone/computer for code meaning…just like what I already have. And what I already have cost less than this one. If you need a code reader, it works a bit more than a basic model. And then there’s the switch you have to make to see different screens. I didn’t like that.

Affordable DIYer type scanner
It works! For the price, you really can't beat it. It's basic. Plasticky. You get a check engine light. Plug this little plastic box in. And you get out some codes to tell you what might be going on.I got it to do some work on an older model car that pretty much lights up the scanner light a Christmas tree so right now I'm pretty happy with it. Saving me some money already vs. mechanic!

A great tool to help isolate issues
I've always been fascinated with the car scanners, so when the BELOMI MS309 Car OBD2 Scanner came across my desk, I snapped it up to see how it worked. By coincidence, my son was having issues with his car, so we put it to work. My impressions:- The case is made out of a light plastic, and it feels cheap. The scanner should be handled carefully, or it feels like it won't last.- Using it is very straightforward. You locate the OBD2 port on your car, plug it in, and it's powered by the car so it should just work. Or it should just work normally. It turns out the my son's car, a 1999 Mercedes 230slk, has a non-standard OBD2 port, so we had to purchase an additional adapter to make it work.- The diagnostics are clear and straightforward. The scanner messages clearly indicated that my son had bad firing spark plugs, and that a vacuum hose was faulty. With the parts replaced, the car now purrs! This is a plain and simple OBD2 scanner. In order to use it, you'll need some knowledge of cars, but with that it can be a great tool to help isolate issues with any car that supports the OBD2 protocol. If there's a downside, it's that modern cars are so reliable that you won't often need to use the scanner. However, when you need it, it's great to have it in your toolkit. Recommended!

Handy tool
This is a breeze to setup and use. Good instruction manual, easy to read and shows you how to diagnose your car. The unit can erase and reset codes so you can run diagnostics while running and get a readout on the cars performance in real time.

Works Great
2024-02-25 UpdateI think part of the issue was there was no current error when I last tried this. Last week, my car had the engine light on and I plugged this unit into the port. It gave me the error code and the plain text of the problem. Gave the error code to the mechanic and get an estimate for repair. There is also additional info you can can view, but TBH, I need the manual to tell me what I'm looking at. The unit worked well and I'm glad I have it.Would I buy it again or recommend this to friend: Yes--- old review ---This unit works, but the screens and the information on them isn't all that intuitive. It definitely helps to run through the info screens while reviewing the instructions. My car didn't have any errors, so there wasn't much to see.

Works decent
It'd be nice if you could dive a little deeper into your car with it but obviously it's not like a computer not a dealership or auto mechanic shop so I mean they'll be high expectations expect that but it works good it took a few tries to get connected properly to my car but once it connected and then it connected every time after that easily just for some reason didn't want to connect for the first five tries

Small & Easy to use, it will tell you exactly what your check Engine Light problem is.
This is not the biggest or most professional code reader, but it will show you exactly what the problem is when your check engine light comes on. I keep a big professional OBD2 reader in my garage, and do all my own repairs. I'm now keeping this small one in my car so when I'm driving I can stop plug it in and know instantly why my warning light is on. That way I know if it's important and I should stop driving, or if it's something that I can keep driving to make repairs at home. You can also remove trouble codes if you need to pass a state inspection. A handy thing to have if you want to pass inspection before you take the time to fix the problem.
