Controller works well
The media could not be loaded. DM542 stepper driver controller. Easy to configure to drive NEMA steppers. For my testing I used an Arduino UNO, NEMA17 stepper motor, and 24v power supply. Easily drives the stepper motor. The NEMA 17 is on the small side for the capabilities. This controller can drive NEMA23 and larger stepper motors.

Great spare controller card
I ordered this to keep as a spare for my laser engraver rotary module.Everything matches and I've been happy so far.

Functional for lower accuracy machines
I wanted this to use for my custom laser cutting table, but after having installed it I found it was a little too aggressive for laser cutting. This isn't really a complaint on the driver, just a realization of how precise laser cutting needs to be. When I say aggressive, I'm referring to the speed at which the driver tries to change the signal going to the motors. Higher end drivers usually have more of a curved signal change, where the machine head fades between positions. This driver tends to change signal linearly which can create issues. I felt it was still worth 4 stars on account that it still ended up working for a less accurate machine I was building. I found that this driver was acceptable for use in a hot wire foam cutting rig, and produced accurate enough results on account of the soft material. All in all it's a decent driver for the price.

Nice little box
This driver gives no surprises - it's nicely built, compact, comes with all of the connectors you need, and all required information is printed in legible text on the top cover. The heatsink on the bottom seems appropriate for the power output. I ran mine at 24V and it worked like a champ. Nice quiet operation while microstepping. The photos in the listing include a 2D drawing which is convenient when laying out metalwork and such for mounting, though I wish they had printed the mechanical drawing on a piece of paper and included it in the box (I have this complaint about a lot of products here though, maybe I'm just old fashioned).Control inputs are opto-isolated and the power input is fused, which are nice features that you might not find on cheaper controllers. Thermal dissipation for the driver bridges relies on a fairly thick thermal gap pad (maybe 3-4mm or 1/8") which makes me a little nervous, but seemed to work just fine.

Could not get to work right
Tried this and while kind of worked it would not reverse when trigger the reverse input and the enable input causes the unit to go into an error state. Did not come with any real documentation either besides what is on the item's Amazon page. From what i understand power to enable should activate the unit not disbale it, power to the direction input should reverse it it did not just made motor malfunction. Tried every motor wire setup i could and settings matched another controller that worked fine with this motor.
