A small compact version of this magnificent book with sketches of costume throughout history and around the world. I love it.

some simply lovely illustrations and a helpful series of terms to help you navigate the changes in fashion through the ages.

An amazing book which delves into the history of dress for both men and women, also detailing jewellery and decoration used for horses and animals and furnishings in the home through the ages. Beginning with the Ancient Egyptians, ending in the late eighteen hundreds. It is is a huge book in content, small in size. However, the book arrived with faint creasing in some pages, which spoiled it a bit. The author was French but text is in English. Using hundreds of detailed fashion plates, each described, you cannot go wrong. There are some extraordinary outfits included and some strange headdress.

Bought this also for my daughter who loves fashion and history of fabrics etc. She loves it

The recipient of this present was thrilled with it. It is a beautiful book with gorgeous illustrations - a real classic.
