Designed for professional artists, it offers moisture resistance, bloom prevention, and the unique ability to fuse layers instantly while allowing reworkability over time. Made in the USA, this medium supports versatile techniques including polishing, carving, and sculpting, ensuring durable, vibrant encaustic artworks without the need for varnish. ## Description RandF Encaustic Medium 2lb is encaustic paint without the pigment. It is used to extend colors in order to create transparencies. RandF Encaustic paint is composed of 100-percent pure pharmaceutical grade beeswax, Singapore-grade dammar resin and chemically pure pigments. Beeswax is impervious to moisture making encaustic paint extremely durable. The dammar in this medium helps prevent blooming and maintain the hardness of the film. There is no need to varnish or protect your painting with glass. It will not deteriorate, yellow or darken. Encaustic paint is kept molten on a heated palette. It is then applied to an absorbent surface and is fused to create a variety of effects. Encaustic goes from a liquid to solid state and back again in seconds giving you the opportunity to add layers without disrupting your composition. Once the surface has cooled, the paint has reached a permanent finish, but with heat, you can revise and rework your painting minutes or years later. This highly versatile medium can be polished to a high gloss, carved, scraped, layered, collaged, dipped, cast, modeled, sculpted, textured and combined with oil. ## Features - A channel to prolong encaustic paints - A necessary tool for encaustic painters - Purest pharmaceutical grade beeswax and dammar resin - Use as little or as much as you need - Made in the USA ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00AIGEJNK | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Best Sellers Rank | #67,717 in Arts, Crafts & Sewing ( See Top 100 in Arts, Crafts & Sewing ) #1,303 in Art Paints | | Brand Name | R&F | | Color | Multicolor | | Color Code | Not Available | | Container Type | Can | | Coverage | Medium | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars (206) | | Finish Type | Matte | | Item Form | Liquid | | Item Type Name | Encaustic Medium | | Item Volume | 2.01 fluid ounces | | Item Weight | 2 pounds | | Manufacturer | R&F Handmade Paints | | Model Name | Encaustic Paint Medium | | Model Number | 825 | | Paint Type | Specialty | | Part Number | 825 | | Size | 32 Ounce (Pack of 1) | | Special Features | Non Toxic | | Specific Uses For Product | Interior/Exterior | | Surface Recommendation | Glass | | UPC | 836943008250 | | Unit Count | 32 Ounce | | Warranty Description | No Warranty | ## Product Details - **Brand:** R&F - **Color:** Multicolor - **Finish Type:** Matte - **Item Volume:** 2.01 fluid ounces - **Paint Type:** Specialty - **Size:** 32 Ounce (Pack of 1) - **Special Feature:** Non Toxic - **Specific Uses For Product:** Interior/Exterior - **Surface Recommendation:** Glass - **Unit Count:** 32 Ounce ## Images ![Encaustic Medium Bagged 2Lb - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71E9JPRwQiL.jpg) ## Frequently Bought Together - R&F Handmade Paints R&F Encaustic Medium Bagged 2Lb - R & F Encaustic Gesso 16oz --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ie/products/5445463-encaustic-medium-bagged-2lb](https://www.desertcart.ie/products/5445463-encaustic-medium-bagged-2lb) --- *Product available on Desertcart Ireland* *Store origin: IE* *Last updated: 2026-10-28*
