Allows my husband to slide the door whether he is inside or out. Brushed nickel color is very well done and was very heavy duty sturdy construction. It is used daily and has held up for the past year without any incidences. Do need to be careful when sliding door though as if it banged against the other door too hard I do think it would break the glass but we are adults only in this household so it is a non issue here. Not sure how that would work with children. I know it would not have been a good plan when my daughter was growing up she would have been too rough when she was young and probably would have slid to hard into the other glass door but we are very happy with these knobs.
